Last time this was offered using direct links worked even if you weren’t targeted, but that hasn’t always been the case (when this happens it lets you register but doesn’t give you the points, meaning you won’t be targeted for it in the future). If you have any questions about Pay Over Time (e.g hard/soft pull) I’d recommend reading through our F.A.Q on the topic found here. You don’t actually need to use the pay over time feature to get the 10,000 bonus points, you must simply enroll in it.
Both of my cards (PRG and PLAT) were not targeted. I’ve been waiting for a Pay Over Time bonus for 2 years lol
I clicked the link and it presented two of my cards after logging in, but there’s no verbiage about the bonus miles. Will I get it or am I merely enrolling in Pay Over Time. Unclear. Thanks.
Most likely won’t get the points, but YMMV.
When I select the card I “want” to enroll, it explicitly tells me that I can enroll, but that I’m not eligible for the points promotion (at which point I click away from that page).
If there is no direct link then please write “targeted”

I received this offer in the mail in February. Still trying to get the points posted to my account
I received a very kind invitation to join, but alas, no 10K gift is attached. Fingers crossed that Amex Claus will send the gifts via paper invite. I’ve been good this year!
I got mail saying I was auto enrolled. They call it “select and pay”. Amex is a mess.
I think that’s a different program. I was auto-enrolled in that on my credit cards. Pay Over Time is a feature on charge cards which otherwise should be paid of entirely every month.

The link is useful to check whether or not you are eligible. My message said: We’re sorry, none of your enrolled Cards is eligible for the Extended Payment Option.

tried clicking on link (for schwab plat card that hasnt signed up for this yet), signed in, message reads “We’re sorry, either your Membership Rewards® points offer has expired or this offer is only available to Card Members who have received a communication directly from American Express for this offer. You can see if you are eligible to enroll in the Extended Payment Option by clicking “I Agree, Enroll”
I got the same for my Green card which is about 8 months old. My Mercedes Benz which is a different log in gets a different one – none of your cards are eligible for pay over time.
Is there an offer code that can be give or a number to call?
When i did this last year, i called the number on the back of my card and the honored it.
A few days later, i received the ACTUAL offer (so i guess i was actually targeted), but worth trying anyway.
I have removed them from my account, i plan to call again soon to see if i can do it again.
