Chase Marriott Premier: 75,000 Points & Annual Fee Waived First Year

Update 01/25/18: There is a proper landing page now, so I’ve updated the post and reposted.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Chase is offering 75,000 points after $3,000 in spend within the first three months on the Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card. Annual fee of $85 is also waived

Card Details

  • Annual fee of $85 waived first year
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 5x points per $1 spent at Marriott & Ritz Carlton locations
    • 2x points per $1 spent on airline tickets purchased directly with the Airline, at car rental agencies and at restaurants
    • 1x points per $1 spent on all other purchases
  • Anniversary bonus of a free night certificate for a category 1-5 property.
  • 15 credits towards Elite membership after approval and every year after account anniversary
  • 1 elite credit for every $3,000 spent
  • This product is available to you if you do not have this card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for this card in the past 24 months
  • Chase’s 5/24 rule does apply to this card

Our Verdict

The public bonus is currently 80,000 points after $3,000 in spend but the annual fee isn’t waived. There is also an offer for up to 120,000 points (you earn 10x points per $1 spent). We also saw a bonus of 100,000 points last year, without the annual fee waived. I think it’s probably best to compare this offer to that offer, would you prefer to save $85 or get an extra 25,000 points? That puts a valuation on points of 0.34¢. Personally I think this card doesn’t make a lot of sense to apply for due to the fact it’s under the 5/24 rule and I’d prioritize other cards ahead of this one. In addition it looks like Chase will offer an Chase Marriott Premier Plus card in the future as well. As always if you do want to apply make sure you read these things everybody should know about Chase cards before doing so.

Hi, Is this 75k Chase UR points or Marriott points offer? Thanks!

I’d like to apply for this and hoping to get some suggestions for how to get instant approval. In October I applied for Chase SW Plus and Premier. Instant approval. 33K CL for each. I November I applied for Chase Sapphire Preferred. No instant approval. Called in and ended up lowering CL for each of the SW cards to 20K. Got approved for the Sapphire Preferred with 26K CL. So it appears that chase has me capped out at 66K CL.

My objective is to apply for two more Chase cards in the same day and only incur one hard pull, the Marriott and one of the cards that do not fall under the 5/24 rule.

Can I call in proactively and lower the CL on my current cards? Or do I just call in and apply over the phone? I’d like to get two more Chase cards since

I am at 4/5 in the last 24 months. 830+ credit score.

TIA

I got for this card with 75k points in December, but AF for 1st year was not waived off. will try contacting the customer care to do an offer match and waive off 1st year fee.

Is it possible to do the friendss referral and then ask Chase to match the offer to 120K? Trying to refer my friend who wants this card and can spend enough for the 120K points deal.

So you can’t trade in points for cash only or a statement credit?

You could also go for the 75k bonus (over the the 80k plus the annual fee), use the AF savings to buy 2500 SPG points / 7500 MR points with $87.50 (basically the annual fee), leaving you with 82,500. or you could wait till later in the year when SPG has a points purchase bonus to get a 40% bonus or whatever they have.

Thanks for the info! Can you please clarify why you think YMMV on this one? Someone below posted the link to https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/marriottpremier/ and it looks legitimate. Is this a targeted offer only?

Send chase a secure message and they might do it for you. Last year they changed my 80,000 bonus to the better 100,000 bonus for my Chase Marriott card.

Just log into your online chase account to locate the option to send a secure message.

What cards would you prioritize over this one? Player 2 is 4/24 and has CFU (PCed from CSP), CIP, CSR, CIC, SW+, and SWB. Should I prioritize MPE over Marriott? Or go for a third SW card?

Well, it really depends on how many Marriott points you have and what you are building those up for. If you haven’t abused Chase then this is a good deal. I’m certainly not building our point total to go visit Cancun!

“I’d prioritize other cards ahead of this one.”
Which are the other cards do you mean?
I personally want to apply 4 chase cc this year. csr and sw are under consideration, what else do you suggest?

I can give you 25000 reasons. 75000 Marriott points transfer to 25000 SPG points. Westin Grand Cayman is 16000 points per night. Stay 4 nights on points and the 5h is free. This could get you the top up you need for a super beach vacation. Oh and 25000 SPG gets you 30000 when transferred to airlines.
