You Can Refer To Chase Freedom Again, Bonus Reduced To $50

Back in August of 2018 Chase removed the ability to refer friends to the Chase Freedom & Chase Sapphire Reserve cards. Reader Nina T received an e-mail offering the ability to refer to the Chase Freedom again and it also appears as an option on the Chase refer a friend website found here. Interestingly the referral bonus has also been reduced to $50, previously it was $100 per approved applicant. This is on top of the fact that Chase also sends out 1099 forms for referrals now as well. It’s still not possible to refer friends to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card.

The referral bonus isn’t that interesting for the person actually signing up, as you only receive a bonus of $150 after $500 in spend. It’s often possible to get a bonus of $200 or higher. Because of that please do not share your referral links in the comments below, thank you.

When was the last time a bonus of $200+ was available for the freedom?

You can refer by going to “credit card” page and then click “learn more”, then you will see the refer option. And you need to provide information of you card to get the link.

Yes but upon keying in your info, you may get a page saying “no offer available for you at this time” at least before this came out.

Yes, I’ve seen the page for a while, but the first time that I actually entered my information was yesterday and it worked.
