New Uber Users: $30 Bonus with Chase

The Offer

Chase has been sending out an offer via email to get a free ride, up to $30, for new Uber users with promo code: chaseuber.

The Fine Print

  • “Make sure you link your Chase card to your Uber account.” (It would sound that you don’t actually have to pay for any ride with the Chase card, just link a Chase card.)
  • Seems like it’s working for anyone with a Chase card.
  • Reportedly, the free ride (up to $30) expires after 30 days.
  • If you’re thinking of trying to signup for multiple Uber accounts, read this first.

Our Verdict

The standard Uber referral offer has typically been $20 when using a referral link. It appears that all referrals are down to $15 now (I checked a few). That offer also has the advantage that it doesn’t expire as fast and it can be used for a free ride, up to $15/$20, for 3 months while this offer is reportedly only for 30 days, as mentioned above.

What’s especially interesting is that this Chase offer can reportedly be added after signing up as well. This hopefully means that you can use a referral link to get the $15 credit and you’ll still be able to get the $30 toward the free ride. Update: Reportedly, this will not stack.

On Slickdeals there are mentions of two other promo codes which can be used for signing up: FEELING22 for $22 and RIDIN30US for $30. If you want a standard Uber referral for $15, here is Mileswhip’s referral link.

I don’t know if the promo codes will stack with the Chase promo code. Using a standard referral probably has a better chance of stacking with the Chase code because it’s not a promo code, but it’s hard to know for sure.

Also remember that there is a Capital One has an ongoing promotion that if you pay for your Uber rides with your QuickSilver or QuickSilverOne card you’ll get a 20% discount on the fare. No promo code needed; just pay with one of those cards and the 20% will come off the bill. We wrote more about this here.

Best case scenario is this:

  • Signup with the $30 or $22 or $15 options mentioned above (FEELING22 or RIDIN30US or an ordinary referral link)
  • Put in the CHASEUBER code for another $30 and add your Chase card to the account
  • If the ride costs more than your promo credits, pay with your Quicksilver card for 20% off

If anyone can get all this to work, let us know.

When I log on to my Chase account, I’m currently being offered 50% off my first 2 Uber rides up to $15 each with a link to sign up for Uber.

Tried to stack a chaseuber promo on top of a referral code from a friend. Got the response: “A new user promotion is already applied to your account”. I believe this is a no-go. Should have went with the chase promo…..

Not sure who this post is aimed at. Who hasn’t taken an Uber yet? Your grandmother?

Evan has great sense of humor. And yes, I just started to use Uber. It was nice when you travel. And they also take Amex points…. !
