Our Verdict

Update: Seems like it’ll take anywhere from 5-20 minutes maximum.

It doesn’t say how long the phone pitch is, I’m guessing you can use the phone pitch to get a good offer to come and see the properties in person and attend an in person meeting (you can see some previous public offers to get a feel for what a good deal would look like for an in person offer here & here).

The phone pitch is actually 17 hours long and just when you think it’s over, they hit you with the “BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE!!!”

Dang I only got 500 when I did it a few months ago 🙁

Awesome offer

Why would you do it for $2?

Maybe he’s lonely and getting someone talking to him while getting paid sounded good

Mark Ostermann

Because I ended up using the offer for an upcoming trip so it was just extra points for something I was gonna grab anyway.

They give you first the the 5k points and then they transfer you to a timeshare agent.

Hmm, you know how sometimes you get disconnected during a call center transfer? Wonder if they’ll call you back.

They are relentless salespeople. I wouldn’t do it unless it were 50,000 points

Somebody please post in detail what it is? Automated? Actual pushy person? How long? Do they require a certain number of questions to be answered by you in order for you to “finish” the call and “allow” you the 5000 points. Or can you right off the bat keep showing them its not for you and finally they just thank you and give you the points???

I haven’t called to get this points offer, but I did call to try and fish for extra points on one of their public deals and they are definitely trained, pushy sales people.

16 minutes all-in without me being rude or rushing anyone trying to do his/her job. I was asked for my Hilton info so they could deposit the points, THEN they found a salesperson. Typical timeshare BS, but when you explain that you barely pay for travel as it is, it’s hard for someone to sell. Still do not see the points in my account, but I assume it may take a few hours/days. Worth a few minutes during a break.

16 minutes is a long time to be on the phone for a measly 5k Hilton points.

Well, what’s your time worth? Assuming .4cpp valuation=$20, that’s $75/hr, but tax free, so More like $100/hr, or 200k salary. Realistically it’s more hassle than that, but also not actual work because I assume one would only pay the bare minimum of attention.

I would rather be working than listening to a time share presentation. I make over $75 an hour.

Slidellian

$75 per hour?? Good! Now you still have six days and 23 hours to work a second job. $75/week won’t cut it today.

It was 13 minutes before I called the IHG rep a liar a few months ago. The next 3 minutes were pretty rough. Doubtful Hilton would be any different.

Frank

Can we get the story about the next 3 minutes?

Ferris

I more or less told him off without using swear words…pushy salesman, making up crap to get me to buy, a terrible liar, do you have any ethics, how do you sleep at night, do you think it’s right lying to people to get paid, etc. He really pissed me off when he lied so I let him have it. Haven’t checked to see if my points posted which were worth like $2.50.

Super easy and friendly people. I was blown away. 5 mins tops. Points will post in 6-8 weeks. Thanks Doc!

Anyone know what is their hours of operation? Thinking of calling at a less busy time. Can’t have them call me since overseas now.
