American Express Adds Wireless Credit To Delta, Hilton & Marriott Business Cards ($10-$15 Monthly Credit)

Earlier this year American Express announced that new temporary benefits would be added to the Delta, Hilton & Marriott cards. We just posted about a dining benefit for personal cards, but business cards are also receiving a monthly credit for wireless purchases. Again the monthly credit you receive depends on the card you have and is as follows:

  • Delta Reserve: $20 monthly credit
  • Delta Business Platinum, Marriott Business: $15 monthly credit
  • Delta & Hilton Business: $10 monthly credit

These credits are good until the end of December 2021, you must have been a cardholder before January 1, 2021 to be eligible and you need to add the offer to your card.

Google Fi not working…after escalating here is the response that’s causing me to finally close my Amex Business Bonvoy:
The Card Member’s transaction does NOT qualify because it is a Google Fi transaction and it is not considered to be its own standalone wireless service/provider because it is operated by Sprint, T-Mobile, and US Cellular. Per the offer Terms, “Starting from the time you enroll through December 31, 2021 (“Purchase Period”), you will earn one $15 statement credit each month after spending $15 or more on combined eligible purchases of monthly wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers with your Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® Card during the Purchase Period, up to a total of $165 in statement credits. The following purchases are excluded: purchases of hardware or repair services; purchases from authorized retailers, resellers or third-party sellers; purchases of bundled services offered by wireless companies for TV, Internet and VoIP; and purchases of VoIP services.

Yeah, Fi worked last year during the similar promo, but this year it is not working for me. Thinking about switching from Fi.

Verizon doesn’t mess around, my bill went up $15 by paying with a credit card – $5 to retroactively remove the discount from last month, $5 to remove discount from the current bill, and $5 for “autopay non-compliance.”

Loaded Mint Mobile Wallet with $5 with $0.50 fee on Feb 15. No email and nothing ever shows.
BonVoy business card. Charge showed as Communication and earned the correct 4x.

Loaded Wallet with $10 with $0.50 fee on Feb 23. No email but $15 showed up in Saving Tab the next day Feb 24. Posted the next day with same Feb 24.

For March and onward I would do the 2 transactions on the same day. (Mint Mobile only have 3 fixed value options to add funds – $5, $10 and $20 – each transaction has $0.50 fee).

On 2/2 – Applied $10 to my Mint Mobile wallet (total $10.50) using my Delta SkyMiles Gold Business AMEX.
As of today 2/13 still no credit.
Displaying in details as being worth 11 Delta SkyMiles and categorized as an “Other” purchase :/

Amex Bus. Hilton shows Mint Mobile wallet as: U.S. Wireless Tel. Service Providers (6x). So at least it did recognize it properly

Similar to comments below – I paid $10 online to Verizon, with my Man’s Hilton Biz, no credit and no email notification. I am on Verizon pre-paid, and the offer clearly states that pre-paid cards don’t qualify. So offer might be a bust for me.
