American Express has announced that starting June 30, 2026 it will no longer be possible to transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Etihad. This is a complete removal, rather than a reduced transfer rate like we saw with Emirates.
It’s still possible to transfer to Etihad from: Capital One, Bilt & Citi ThankYou at a rate of 1:1. We also sometimes see transfer bonuses from those partners. It will be interesting to see if any of those flexible point programs also lose Etihad as a transfer partner or not.
