Our Verdict
Given that the Chase INK card earns 5x rewards on cell and cable purchases, the 10% off isn’t huge. Still, 10% + Amex points is better than 5x INK, and it also leaves the INK bandwidth for other purchases.
If you got the 10% Amex offer on a Blue Cash card which already qualifies for 10% off with the recent Blue Cash signup bonus, you’d be able to get a whopping 20% off your cellular. Most likely, however, they were smart enough not to target those cardholders with this offer.

I just signed up for both of these offers, which were available under my offers. My cable bill is $117 a month and I’ve already paid May’s so that only leaves June before it expires. I do not have cell service through any of the providers listed.
So if I’m understanding correctly I should pay $300 on my cable bill next month, which would cover June, and prepay July and part of August. If I only get 10%, I’ll get my $30 credit, but if it stacks, I’ll get a $60 credit.
Is this how I should proceed? Thanks.
Yup, usually you can prepay. If the system allows you to prepay, do a $300 payment and you’ll get $30 back.
I added both offers on the same card (Cell + Cable). I don’t have a cell phone bill, but paid my “cable” bill (internet only with TimeWarner). However, I only got 10% credit and not 20% 🙁
Right, no reason you should get both offers on a TimeWarner bill.
I have the offer on several cards, and used 2 of them already. Since I only have two statements left, and at least 4 more offers, I was considering using one or two for credit cards via Verizon messaging. We have 5 lines, so I thought I would buy a $100 ebay card on three of them, and then make a mid-month payment of $300 using an offer, that way I would get 10+% off these ebay cards. Has anyone tried this?
Sounds good. Let us know if it works.
Data point: prepaid Verizon FIOS bill for $300; received BOTH cable and phone statement credits for $60 total.
Wow!
Same story with me I prepaid using 11 Amex cards got all credos for Cable and Phone
Only my sisters blue cash has the offer.
My father had the 10% off cellular offer in 2 cards. The 2 tab trick didn’t work. Once I added the offer in one card, the other card said I already had the offer.
Is this dead for anyone else?!
Worke for me moments ago.
Hey Chuck,
Where in your Amex panel can you add this deal to your cards. As I don’t see this offer in my Amex Cash card.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
These offers are targeted. If you don’t see it, there’s no way to add it.
You said “targeted offers”, does it mean email received in your inbox or logging online to your amex account and check for offers?
2nd one.
Login and add the offer to each card.
Don’t see any offers on my cards. I used a few of them last time they had a similar offer though.
Does anybody know if the cable/satellite offer is good for Internet also? I only have internet through Optimum but no cable.
Last time I did att Internet when the deal was for cable. It still worked.
worked for me as well
Since it’s 10% of your online payment back as a statement credit. So it’s not Amex points as you mentioned under Our Verdict.
I meant 10% back + the regular points you always earn on the purchase. So if it’s a Blue Cash card, it will be 11% total (10.9% to be precise).
