[Expired] Amex Offers: Save 20% On Your Insurance Bill, Up To $85

Deal has expired, view more insurance deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Targeted offer, check AmEx offers to see if you’re targeted

  • Get 20% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Business Card to make a payment on your insurance bill by 11/5/2019. Limit of $85 in total statement credits.

The Fine Print

  • Government-backed insurance policies may be excluded.

Our Verdict

This is a terrific offer which seems to include most forms of insurance like health, car, life, etc; only government-backed insurance is mentioned as a possible exclusion. Max this out out with a $425 payment.

I found it on a few business cards. Not sure if this offer is showing on personal Amex cards.

That’s actually one of the better offers in a while.

While my insurance do not take amex…

yeah, got offer on two cards but same problem

Wow, all I ever get in Amex offers are niche online retailers and FedEx.

Solidarity!

Same here. I could have used this one, homeowner policy due. Instead I get the online grocery one that’s good for exactly nothing.

Same here. It doesn’t show up on my Simply Cash card or my wife’s Business Bonvoy.

If it makes you feel any better, I paid my insurance yesterday and got this offer today. I’m kicking myself over the timing.

I’ve never got this offer at all, when I used it to pay for my auto insurance, but I switched to mastercard after few payment, should I switch payment back to Amex? so I get it targeted? or waiting until get the offer then pay it?

Esurance takes amex, just saved the full $85. Not bad at all. Received the email from amex stating I used the offer a minute after paying.

I could use it but made a payment for upcoming policy recently. Will see if I can reverse payment and repay, if can’t I will shoot you a message.

Truly a fantastic deal. I don’t remember ever seeing an offer on which I could save $85 on something I pay for anyway. Last time AMEX offered this it was for a much smaller amount. Fortunately one of my insurance bills is for just over $425.

Geez, 0/4. Frankly, I don’t understand why the Platinum cards don’t have every offer; if it’s supposed to be ‘the best’, it needs to start acting like it.

Even more so when almost everything earns a crappy 1X.

Plat card used to be great. Not anymore. I got rid of it because they dropped a lot of the benefits I used, can’t get airline gift cards anymore, offer crap benefits like Dell, and now I can’t even get in the centurion lounges except for 2 hours on departure, plus dropped Priority Pass restaurants. Not worth the money. Plus I never charge anything to it because there are no good offers anymore or only 1 MF point. Card sucks. Not the best (used to be though). You should cancel it.

Was just looking into opening the plat and it says access to centurion lounge. So they have limitations in the fine print?

Limitation is if it’s full, they won’t let you in! Depending on when/where you fly, it could be a significant issue.

Plus you can only get in so far ahead of your flight (maybe 3 hours?) and can’t enter a lounge at your destination airport. This one bugs me. If I left my house 8 hours ago (or much more with a connection) it’s nice to stop in a lounge before hopping on a train or driving my rental car another 90 minutes.

Mark

I have it on my Blue Business Plus card, as does my wife.

Anyone found it on a non-business Amex? I got mine on BBP.

Frank

This is great as my Amex Plat 10% off insurance just ran out and I was going to switch back to my BBP anyway

THANK YOU! Saved it to my card! About to use it to save $85 now on my Amica renewal.

This is a great deal. I have Progressive for my car and renter’s insurance. They do not take Amex and have no plans to start. I was targeted on my BBP and Hilton Business. I really could have easily used this offer.

could be worth switching insurance…

Progressive takes paypal and paypal takes amex I wonder if it would trigger it that way? No personal experience but it just might work.

Anything sent through a portal such as PayPal will not trigger it from past experience. All AMEX Offers MUST BE DEALT WITH DIRECTLY THROUGH ANY MERCHANT WEBSITES.

“PAYPAL *PROGRESSIVE” triggered the previous two Amex insurance offers, 10% back, max $20.

I actually just switched insurance from esurance to Progressive today. I was disappointed to not be able to use the offer, as esurance accepted Amex. However, paying via paypal triggered the Amex offer email, so I think you would be in good shape. The only down side is that my premium dropped low enough that I can’t quite max out the offer at $85 🙂
