[Expired] Amex Offers: Save 20% On Your Insurance Bill, Up To $85

Deal has expired, view more insurance deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Targeted offer, check AmEx offers to see if you’re targeted

  • Get 20% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Business Card to make a payment on your insurance bill by 11/5/2019. Limit of $85 in total statement credits.

The Fine Print

  • Government-backed insurance policies may be excluded.

Our Verdict

This is a terrific offer which seems to include most forms of insurance like health, car, life, etc; only government-backed insurance is mentioned as a possible exclusion. Max this out out with a $425 payment.

I found it on a few business cards. Not sure if this offer is showing on personal Amex cards.

I paid $425 towards my Kaiser Permanente health insurance bill. The $1 authorization hold/charge triggered an email informing me that I’ve activated the offer. Hopefully the credit comes through soon after.

Anyone know if this works for more than 1 payment subject to the max for all payments?
Seems like it maybe only one unlike some of the other offers. It refers to a payment but says limit of $85 in total statement CREDITS.

Here’s my datapoint: paid Progressive via paypal on 8/19 with BBP (they don’t take AMEX direct) – did not get any notice or email about triggering offer. Still received credit on 8/24. Definitely pleasantly surprised!

I was targeted for this offer, paid USAA insurance bill but the credit didn’t trigger automatically. Called Amex and they confirmed eligible purchase was made but said it can take up to 90 days to verify with merchant. I told them that’s not been my experience with previous offers but they insisted this was how it would go…

Same situation for me. I never received the email stating I had used an offer, I had thought to try test amount first but did the full amount. Amex rep said wait for several weeks. to see.

I was targeted on my “legacy” AMEX Business Blue Plus card. My wife has different AMEX biz cards and was not targeted, nor does it seem like any of our family’s companion cards were targeted.

This is basically like $85 falling out of the sky for me because I pay my USAA auto and home policies with credit cards every month (either with a high bonus card or to meet a minimum spend). My Blue card pays me 2 Membership Rewards points on all purchases, so it’s a decent card to use even without the $85 rebate.
