I have a stay at a DoubleTree that I booked via hilton.com. The offer for DoubleTree specifically states booking should be made on doubletree.com. Does anyone know if I’ll get this cashback even though I didn’t book on doubletree.com? hilton.com is still a Hilton’s so I guess my chances are good.

Not sure if this exact question has been answered – have an upcoming Homewood suites stay that is just after the expiration date. Can I call the hotel directly to pre-pay some of the room charge in order to trigger the offer?

Should be able to. Give it a try.

This won’t help many people, but I had a cash reservation for August for a Hilton property in town. I went to that hotel’s lobby to pay for one of my nights in advance. 3 days later, $50 credit posted. I wonder if it would work if you call ahead and ask for the same thing.

If I have one of these offers saved and an Authorized User on my account makes the qualifying spend, do I get the credit or does the AU have to have the offer saved on their sub-account?

Had anyone realized that spending $500 per night on any room, just to get 20% off, has an opportunity cost of 80% — of money that you should not be spending?

Sometimes with these “XX% Off” deals, we lose the forest for the trees.

The trick is to accumulate “free” nights. But, if you have to pay way over retail to do it, even with a “discount,” than what the heck is the actual point?

As always, if you can afford it, or would just like to splurge a little, than this doesn’t even matter. But, I think that a lot of these card promotions get people spending money that wasn’t even budgeted, in the first place.

I do that on business trips that my company pays for anyway. Or a planned vacation that I’m spending money on hotel stays anyway.

My problem is the Hilton here in Hawaii only sells gift cards at the gift shop and not at the front desk.

Anyone had any luck getting the offers to work when buying the gift cards at the gift shop?

Looks like Hilton Waikoloa on the Big Island only sells Hilton GCs at the spa.

The only workaround I can think of if the front desk doesn’t sell GCs is if you’re already staying at a Hilton, to see if the spa/ gift shop will charge the GC purchase to your room. I know Hilton spas in particular can charge to room.

Quick question re stacking with the $250 resort credit on Hilton Aspire card: will a charge of $500 trigger both the $100 and the $250, or so I need to charge $750?

I was able to stack last year with $250 resort credit on the Hilton Aspire card and an AMEX Offer for “Spend $350 or more, get $70 back” at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas. Double Bonus – The $250 credit also stacks with Fine Hotels & Resorts.

Had a $350 charge. Put exactly $250 on the Amex offer card and the balance on a gift card I had bought earlier at 20% discount. One way to ensure 20% discount across total bill.

Does anyone know whether staying at multiple properties adding up to the total amount will trigger these offers?

They do stack but not sure about multiple charges. The terms and conditions even exclude advance rate purchases, technically. You could book a refundable rate at the hotels you’re interested in and ask them to charge it in advance of your stay and see what happens across multiple hotels. In the past, Amex offers tend to be more flexible than T&Cs say. YMMV.
