Applied For Chase Sapphire Preferred Or Chase Freedom Unlimited In Banch Recently? Get Matched To Higher Offer

Currently Chase are offering increased sign up bonuses when you apply in branch for two of their cards (only for some):

If you applied for either of these cards in branch within the last 90 days, then send Chase a secured message asking them to match you to these bonuses. Unfortunately Chase is not matching if you applied online. I suspect a few people will have applied in branch, because in branch pre-approval offers have been bypassing the Chase 5/24 rule.

You can view data points of people being successfully matched in either of the linked posts at the top of this post. Please feel free to share your matching experiences in the comments as well. Chase have really been pushing people to apply in branch recently, with the Chase Ink Preferred also offering a waived annual fee if you apply in branch.

I applied for the Sapphire Preferred at the branch. It was a 100k bonus because the fee is $450.

Did some people only get 50k for this card? I didn’t notice it was that low.

Thanks.

i tried getting matched in late Jan after getting the CSP via SM and they told me the match was only for CPC clients and that they couldn’t match.

Just asked what credit cards I have been pre-screened for. Been told: CSP, Freedom Unlimited and United. I am way over 5/24

Semi off topic, but I recently got the CSR and am now thinking about getting the CSP via a family referral link. I’m under 5/24, and this is basically just racking up bonuses from largest on down. Does anyone see a problem with this from Chase’s perspective? Thanks!

fair point thanks. Was thinking automated/online application would be safer, but if a CSR+CSP in relatively short succession isn’t an issue then I’ll definitely opt for in branch lol… thanks!

Asked to be matched and they said I have to have an offer code even though I mentioned I’m CPC and applied in branch. If I can’t produce an offer code, they said they will not match. Anyone know what it is?

Data point: my wife applied in branch for the pre approved offer of 50k points on the sapphire preferred. She wasn’t approved instantly. She called recon the next day and a decision was already made. She was denied due to the amount of new accounts in the past 24 months.

She was able to get the reserve with this method in august.

First mistake is that she called recon the next day instead of waiting it out. Sometimes waiting it out works wonders, but she lost that opportunity when she called in

I can confirm that “Unfortunately Chase is not matching if you applied online.”

I applied online, but they wanted my offer code to match.

I think the joke Paul was making was that you said “in branch” again after the person complained about your grammar last time. Haha!
