Our Verdict

Not as good as the 75,000 point bonus. The upside is this is available via referral so if you can refer a friend/family member and effectively split the referral miles then this offer is actually better. You can see how being added as an AU affects your credit by reading this post. We will add this to the best credit card bonuses, but keep in mind if you’re not using a referral from somebody you know it’s probably better to wait for the 75k bonus to return. This is also the best offer on a card with no minimum spend. Read through these things you should know about Barclays credit cards before asking any basic questions in the comments.

Post history:

  • Update 8/26/24: Bonus still active.
  • Update 7/30/24: Deal will end tomorrow.
  • Update 6/14/24: This offer is now available via public link. The public version gets 70k directly and does not need the authorized-user card added. (ht dealdad)

Last opened card in 2/2023. Good to open again or need to wait more? Want to grab it again before it’s gone cause of the citi deal.

I went through the link and only got 60,000 miles. I would not have wasted applying for that. They refuse to honor.

I’ve closed this card around 2 years ago, how long of a wait before getting the sign up bonuses on the same cards for Barclays?

Application under review (2/24, 830ish score, 14 open cards). They made me scan a QR code and verify my identity by taking a photo of front and back of my DL. Pulled Transunion.

I had this card and canceled before COVID. Have had an open Wyndham Biz (lousy $1k limit) for 3 years.

wait for it ….. wait for it ……

… Approved!
I used the online application checker found on DoC – it said “Currently we are unable to offer you a credit card…” I proceeded to call the recon line from DoC (866-408-4064). They said there was a security issue with the app. I was transferred to security dept, they asked a few simple questions and said I was approved. Didn’t say what CL was.

This is interesting. I’m calling them today. Applied for 70k on 1/1/25 through link. Haven’t had a Barclays card in decades. They pulled an older Transunion from several years ago (when my scores were only in the good range after many years of not playing the game) when it should have been pulled from the current score in the excellent range. Not sure how that happened. Possibly from my LA address pre and through lockdowns (I spent them at the Sunset Marquis). Currently back in NY and carrying 4 premium cards only. I wanted to get this card along with the Hawaiian 70k offer together. These would be great for space on JAL from East coast later this year to Tokyo.

How long does it take for the miles to be credited to AA account? My first statement is out, I spent 1.50$ and was charged $99 for the annual fee.

It requires full payment of the annual fee, suggesting you at least have to pay the first statement with the annual fee first.

Last signed up for this card in December 2022 (Closed Sometime in Summer 2023?) and was instant approved for $17k limit, used the 70k offer link. I was also approved for Hawaiian ($15k) and Wyndham Biz ($5k) in October 2024 and minimally used either card after SUB., I’m fairly surprised at this approval. I think I’m like 7/24 now.
