The Offer

  • Mission Federal Credit Union is offering a bonus of $100 when you open a new checking account and complete the following requirements:
    • Bring flyer into branch (some branches giving it out when asked)
    • Have a minimum of five member initiated transactions with 90 days of account opening (ACH, cash or check deposits and withdrawals)

The Fine Print

  • Cannot be a signer on any other Mission Fed Credit Union account within the past 12 months
  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

Easy checking account has no monthly fees to worry about as long as you’ve opted in eStatements

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find an early account termination fee in the fee schedule

Our Verdict

Probably not worth it for most people due to the hard pull and the small bonus. Because of that I won’t be adding it to our list of the best checking account bonuses.

Too bad about the hard pull. Pass. Thanks for posting anyways and giving the reader the choice.

It looks like all branches are in the San Diego area. This might be worth mentioning to save people a search.
