Sorry, but this deal is no longer valid. If you want to see some Chase coupons that are still valid, go here.
[Disclaimer: If you purchase a Chase coupon from eBay we receive a small commission. We recommend these coupons because they don’t require a direct deposit and give you more than $150 as a sign up bonus. We suggest you read our post on how to save 5%+ on eBay]
Chase has released another checking code promotion where you can earn $150 for simply setting up an account with them. This code requires a direct deposit, whilst codes can be found for $200 and higher on eBay often do not. There is also a public offer currently available for a $200 checking code, but it requires a Chase Premier Checking account which has higher requirements for keeping the account fee free.
The Offer
- Earn $150 when you set up a chase checking account and fund it with at least $100 and set up a qualifying direct totaling $500 or more
The Fine Print
- To receive the bonus you must do all of the following:
- Be approved for a chase total checking account
- Fund the account with at least $100 within 10 days of account opening
- Have a qualifying direct deposit (pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government) made within 60 days of account opening
- Only available to new account holders. You’re considered a new account holder if you don’t currently have a chase checking account and haven’t held one in the last 90 days
- Bonus will be posted within 10 business days of finishing the requirements (bonuses are always posted the Tuesday after the requirements are met)
- Bonus is considered interest and will be reported on an IRS Form 1099-INT.
- You can only earn one Chase checking bonus per calendar year.
- Offer valid until July 7th, 2014
Getting The Fees Waived
Chase total checking comes with a monthly fee of $10-$12 (depending on your location), this fee can be easily waived. To do so just meet one of the following conditions:
- Receive qualifying direct deposits of at least $500 each month
- Have a minimum daily balance of at least $1,500
- Have an average daily balance of at least $5,000 in a combination of Chase checking, savings or other balances.
Our Verdict
Chase checking bonuses are some of my favorite to complete, Chase doesn’t do a hard pull for any of their bank account products. It’s also possible to trigger the direct deposit requirement without actually receiving an employment payment (which can be a pain to change multiple times per year), click here to find out how.
They also allow you to fund the initial opening amount with a credit card up to a maximum of $1,000 (click to see which cards count as a cash advance and which don’t), which means that you can earn another $10-$20 if you use a credit card with a decent rewards program (e.g $22 if you used the Barclays Arrival and then redeemed it for statement credit).
That being said, I won’t be taking advantage of this checking account bonus and that’s because I already took part and received a checking bonus from Chase this year. I actually bought a coupon from eBay which was for a $200 bonus for the checking account and $200 for the savings account, giving me a total of $400 of free money from Chase.
They are now actually selling combined codes for $600 as well. My suggestion would be to purchase either the $400 or $600 codes from eBay (the $600 codes are a bit stricter requirements, so you might be best going for the $400 combined codes).
