  • Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card

Our Verdict

Previous best bonus we’ve seen on this card was 140,000 points + $50 statement credit with the annual fee waived. That’s probably a better deal unless you value IHG points highly. If this was a public offer it would definitely get added to the best credit card bonus page, just keep in mind possible IHG devaluations and use the points ASAP.

New offer on the ihg.com home page today, 150k points with no annual fee first year. There is a big banner on the top that for some reason shows up for me on Microsoft Edge, but not Firefox. And there’s no better offer (like a $50 credit) when doing a dummy booking.

I got a targeted offer of 125k+free night of 40k or less (separate from the annual night) with 3k spend — coming to 165k total. Annual fee not waived, though.

The bonus has to be at least 400K and has to earn 20 points minimum on each dollar spend on all purchase for me to apply for IHG card. 70000 points a night for $89 holiday inn and 120000 points a night for $130 intercontinental a night ? No thanks .

Really depends on the location you want to stay at. In Dallas, most hotels can be redeemed for 10-15K points/night. Plus you get a free 4th night if you use points to book.

ya… dallas hotels are cheap…but I’m not really interested in staying in a dallas hotel for vacation….that would be fine for work but for vacation I’d go to a place like South Padre Island or similar… probably can’t get that for 10-15k…. Actually I just checked the two hotels don’t even have reward nights available.

Yeah I’ve had good luck when redeeming in Europe. $100 rooms for 10-20k points is pretty good in my opinion.

Where do you see the af is waived the first year? I got the offer in my email but don’t see anything about the fee being waived

Inflated redemption. Few years back, when i got my IHG card, it was 80000 after $2000 spend. Current 160K offer is worth as much as 80K few years back.

card may keep its value, but IHG has screwed its millions of customers who hold (or perhaps “hoard”) its points.
