[Expired] Chase Sapphire Preferred Referrals Now Showing 100,000 Points Offer + 20,000 For Referrer

Update 10/12/21: Sometime this afternoon referral links began showing the lower 60k offer. Far as we know, it’s still 100k in-branch.

Update 10/8/21: While the public Sapphire Preferred 100k offer has expired and is now showing 60k, you can still use a previously-generated referral link for the 100k offer. Unknown expiration. (No referral requests/offers/sharing in the comments below. Your comment will go into spam and future comments might not be approved.) Branch offers are still around as well with waived annual fee.

Original Post:

The Chase Sapphire Preferred 100,000 points signup bonus is now available via referral links.

Chase Sapphire Preferred Referral | All Referrals

  • New member will get the same 100,000 points after $4,000 spend like with the regular online signup offer ($95 annual fee is not waived).
  • Referrer will get 20,000 points per referrals. Maximum of 100,000 points can be earned each calendar year.

You must generate a new referral link now to get the 100,000 points offer as the old links still show the 80,000+$50 offer.

Lots of people have been waiting for this referral update since the 120,000 total points is worth even more than the branch 100,000 + $95 + $50 offer. Some might still prefer the branch offer, e.g. if you don’t have a spouse to refer you. Also keep in mind, you might get 1099ed for the 20k referrer bonus whereas the branch offer is entirely tax-free. (There’s no 1099 for the 100,000 signup bonus, regardless.)

Especially interesting and exciting is that they’ve increased the referrer bonus limit from 15k/75k to 20k/100k. Tangentially, the Chase Sapphire Reserve card is still not available for signup via referral links.

I need some general feedback / advice on strategies with credit cards. I have a credit score of 800+. I have several cards that I have collected over the last 13 years or so.

It has been several years since I tried to apply for more than one card within a short period of time. So I just want some feedback on this. I just applied and was approved for a Cap One Quicksilver. I also wanted to apply for a Chase Freedom Flex and a Chase CSP (for 100k in branch).

I was thinking apply for the Chase Freedom Flex online. I already have two vanilla Freedom cards (several years old). Is it pretty easy to get the Freedom Flex considering I was just approved for a Cap One Quicksilver?

If I apply for the Flex now.. would it hurt my chances of applying for a CSP in branch about a month from now? I had a CSR two years ago (so it’s been over 48 months).. and I have never had a CSP before. My CSR was downgraded to a Freedom after I met all the requirements. That’s why I have two Vanilla Freedoms.

Basically, I’m just wondering about applying for Cap One Quicksilver, Chase Freedom Flex, and CSP within a short period of time? My number of inquiries is pretty low.. on credit reports it only lists 1 inquiry (the Cap One Quicksilver from a few days ago).

Let me know if this makes sense or any better offers right now. I kind of just like easy bonus and low spend.. but the CSP is handy too I think for travel.. and also because I have a lot of UR points just sitting there for a long time.

My 48 months ended 10/12. I applied prior to be safe but was declined due to getting the bonus within 48 months.
Can this be reconned?? Or no shot?

Long time reader, first time post. Just wanted to share that I got an email from Chase saying that I had until 1/4/2022 to refer friends for the 100k bonus/20k for myself.

Have you checked your referral link to verify?

My referral link still shows the 100k with 20k for referrer. Thru 1/4/2022 per the fine print.

You’re probably see that you can earn 100K by referring individuals five times for 20K each. Would love to be proven wrong with a screenshot though

Strange… appears AZ is correct. Link shows 100k in the text or email (on the receivers end) when you send it to someone, but clicking the link takes you to the 60k offer.

Chase e-mails with a referral code from July through September were showing 100,000 point SUB until today (October 12th) after I received a new referral code e-mail that is only showing 60,000 point SUB.

Anyone know how to verify your SUB once approved? I used a referral link that said 100k on 10/11 and card shows in my account today, 10/12. I thought they had a SUB tracker but don’t see it anywhere now? Thanks

Use the Chase mobile app — select the card then scroll down past account activity

Tried, but I don’t see anything. 🤷

Then give it a few days — right now the bonus tracker shows up in mobile app only (they took it off the website for some reason)

The APP shows the deadline for the referral 100K CSP offer. When I generate the refer link, the APP shows 1/4/2022 as the last day for this offer. Hopefully Chase will keep it till the end of this year.

Well I still see 100K in the APP when I generate the link now. However, the website shows 60K when I click the link. Chase messes it up.

The 100K you see when you are generating the link tells you how much you can earn by referring people (5X20,000 is 100,000). It does not say how much the person signing up will get. Read it carefully.
