Our Verdict

Seems like a bonus worth doing if it’s a soft pull. Requirements are easy and no monthly fee to worry about either. If anybody goes for this bonus then please share your experience in the comments below.

Smooth sign-up, allow up to $500 credit card charge for funding account. I used CFU and no cash advance.

I’m a CO resident and just signed up. I’ll report back with any updates.

Opened and used the promocode and it confirmed, easy process, the only worry is to get the debit card in time so I can activate it by 10/31 seems like that was part of the deal. Hope this is as easy as it looks!

I did the “do not mail” option. Sounds like you can pickup the card at an “instant issue location” such as Bellco CU?

I didn’t see that option, hope it ships from somewhere close to get it in time, might be worth a call if it doesn’t show up in time as ‘activation of debit card’ before certain date seems silly as a bonus requirement. I could see purchase requirements but just activation?

My CR’s are frozen, I live in Boulder County Colorado, so could be either, but I think its location based since I haven’t received any attempted pull alerts.

Online open worked for me, also in Boulder County

What does ” must hold $5 in savings account” mean? Do i have to open both savings and checking?

lenin1991
lenin1991

Yes. $5 in the savings account is required for CU membership. You must choose to open a checking account in the opening process to be eligible for bonus. Both have no fees, no minimums.

Nice, I’m going to try this for me and P2, maybe even for P3. Do they allow CC funding from Amex, or just Visa/MC?

lenin1991

It didn’t specify what cards are ok, and I only tried Visa…

Bill

Can confirm that Amex is NOT allowed. I funded from CIU since I don’t have my new CIP or Citi AA Biz yet (still in the mail).

Joined and approved easily. Saw something about them using Experian info, but no hard pull after account was opened so I assume it was just a soft pull.

Also seems like we need to complete the app today to have time to receive and activate the Debit card before Oct 31. Hopefully its not too late already.

CO resident, opened fine, seems to not be Chex-sensitive, no sign of any hard-pull! Funded $500 via Capital One Visa. Received account numbers on approval, both on screen and via SM.

I went in branch and they said 7 to 10 biz days for the debit card to arrive by mail. You should have the option to receive the debit card instantly in branch however their systems are down today so I’ll have to come back. Probably too many new accounts are being opened?

Ben

Approved for the account no problems. Used Chase FU and it seemed to post as a purchase. $100 deposit already being sent. Time to wait for the debit card.

Ben

Well no debit card in the mail and it is 10/31…. Going to send a secure message

Bill
Bill

Go to the CU today and they will print the card.

Ben

I received a response back from my secure message that you need to activate the card within 30 days of account opening. The 10/31 activation date did not matter.

I received the debit card on 11/1 and activated it that day. I received the bonus on 11/2 and a confirmation email about the bonus.

Easiest bonus ever. Opened the account Monday night, stopped by the branch to have a debit card printed Tuesday, and the bonus was posted before I woke up on Wednesday. Great experience with the application process and customer service at the bank too. Also funded $500 with CSP.

Opened online, pickup up card at branch, bonus posted within 48 hours of opening the account. CC fund posted to discover as services.
Wow. Possibly nicest/easiest bank I’ve ever dealt with (out of about 50 banks).

Debit card arrived yesterday, activated it the $200 bonus posted today in the savings account. Also, received email confirming bonus.

I did call in because I was worried mail would be delayed due to weather and the rep confirmed you can go into branch if the card doesnt arrive in time. Super easy without worrying about DD and posting still time for those that want to go in branch for card.

I went to a branch yesterday and got a debit card issued as it didn’t show up in the mail after a week. Super easy, took about 5 mins.

Bonus posted today into the savings account.

Same here for my P2 and P3 – in and out in 5 mins, got the bonus this AM, then of course, the original cards showed up in the mail today.
