Discover Adds Clarity To Their Referral Bonus Signup System

Discover now makes it clear to a card applicant who is using a referral link what their signup bonus is. If you send your Discover IT referral link to a friend, they’ll see their bonus details clearly – currently, either $50 or $100, depending on the card.

Get a $50 Statement Credit after you apply through your friend’s referral link and make your first purchase within 3 months of being approved.

Previously it didn’t state the signup bonus on the signup page itself which caused confusion for the applicant.

Just chatted with them and got the 0% APR for 14 months

Hi Xxx, my name is J I am in Phoenix. I am happy to help you with a promotional rate today. I do show we have a 0% for future purchase. The promotional rate of 0.00% will apply to new purchases starting 04/27/2020 through 04/26/2021 and will expire on 06/20/2021.After that, the standard purchase APR of 22.99% will apply. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. You will receive a written confirmation of this offer. Do you accept this offer?
I was offered the 3% cash back promotion as well but not interested and I can only pick one

DP unrelated to the referral bonus. I have Discover CC since 2012. Few days ago they blocked my credit card as well as access to online account. Received an email request to sign and return them the form 5406-T (request for tax return transcript).

What I wanted to ask…So if I refer P2 and P2 already has a Discover card and applies for another (can it be the same card as existing or should it be different?) then will both get the referral credit.

Do the referral offers include the Cashback Match terms for the first year?

Yes — if you click on “See rates, rewards, and other info” on the referral page then you’ll see:

Cashback Match
No purchase minimums. After the first 12 consecutive billing periods that your new account is open, we will match all of the cash back rewards you’ve earned on your credit card and apply them to your account in the following one or two billing periods. If your account is closed or no longer in the cash back reward program at the time we calculate your potential award, your cash back will not be matched. You’ve earned cash back rewards when they have posted to your account by the end of the 12th consecutive billing period. This promotional offer may not be offered in the future. This exclusive offer is available only to new cardmembers.

Super random comment, but why do you guys capitalize the first letter of every word in a title instead of the normal capitalization scheme? Is that a WordPress thing?

Fair enough.  William Charles is the one with explaining to do!

Capitalizing them all is easier for my small brain to understand

No, it’s correct capitalization in a title. See Chicago Manual of Style Capitalization Rules, or similar, for standards.

The Chicago Manual of Style states not to capitalize lowercase articles, coordinating conjunctions, and prepositions.

Surely one must refer to the classic works of Strunk and White!
