The Offer

Delta & AirBnB partnered together late last year and made it possible to earn Delta miles on all AirBnB bookings.

You can now earn 3x miles per $1 for a limited time instead of the typical 1x earnings

Be sure to book by the end of October 2017 for a stay before the end of October 2018 to be eligible for the bonus earn.

Additionally, they’ve increased the bonus for new members:

New AirBnB members get 2,000 Delta miles with their first booking + $25 off instead of the standard offer of 1,000 miles + $25 off

There’s also the standard offer available to get 25,000 Delta miles when you become an AirBnB host and earn $2,500 in earnings.

Our Verdict

You can also get United miles by purchasing an AirBnB gift card through the MPX app (currently, it’s earning 2x) and stack it with this Delta offer. Or you can pay with an Amex card which is enrolled in the $50 off $150 deal if you were targeted with that offer.

You can choose to earn 1x Qantas miles instead of Delta. I’m surprised that AirBnB hasn’t popped up on regular shopping portals yet.

I booked a stay with only gift cards, checked out on 9/4, and miles posted on 9/6. The 3x miles is calculated on the total bill, including cleaning and service fees.

Does payment method matter? Could you click through delta Airbnb and pay with an Airbnb gift card?

I’m sure that it would stack. The offer is coming from AMEX and not AirBnB. I have that offer on one of my cards, so I am pretty excited about stacking all of these together.

Dang it, I booked $800 in Airbnb places 2 days ago 🙁

According to the FAQ page (https://www.deltaairbnb.com/faq):

DO I HAVE TO VISIT DELTAAIRBNB.COM EVERY TIME TO EARN MILES?
Yes. Earning miles is applicable only for Airbnb transactions which are originated from deltaairbnb.com. Members need to visit this exclusive page every time so they can be redirected to Airbnb and earn miles. SkyMiles Members who go directly to Airbnb without first visiting deltaairbnb.com will not be eligible for miles.

Bummer, let’s see if I magically get any Delta SkyMiles from my mess up :/
