- Enroll in eStatements
- Have direct deposits of at least $500 per month
The Fine Print
- Must open an Elite Checking Account, enroll in eStatements, and have direct deposits of at least $500 per month. Once these requirements are met, you will receive $100 deposited into the account as a bonus within 30 days.
- Account must be open and in good standing (not negative) at time of payout to receive bonus.
- The bonus is considered interest and will be reported to the IRS on your 1099-INT form.
- Offer expires March 2, 2018.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
This account has no monthly fees. I wasn’t able to find any mention of an early account termination fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Might be worth doing for some if you live near a branch and it’s a soft pull but definitely not one of the better bonuses out there. If anybody decides to sign up please share your experiences and data points in the comments below.
