- Abington Bank is offering a $300 bonus when you open a Get Real CheckingSM account and bonus is broken down as follows:
- $200 when you receive a direct deposit of at least $25 OR sign up for online banking and conduct 5 debit card transactions within 60 days of account opening
- $50 when you make 5 bill payments using online banking and enrolling in eStatements within 60 days of account opening
- $50 when the account has been open for 12 months
The Fine Print
- Special offer is for opening a Green Checking or NOW account.
- Minimum balance to open Green Checking is $10.
- $100 promotional offer is for opening a personal checking account and activating direct deposit (of at least $25) or signing up for online banking and conducting 5 debit card transactions using your debit card within the first 60 days of account opening ($100 will be credited to the account by the last day of the statement cycle following the 60th day the account has been open).
- $50 promotional offer is for making 5 bill payments using online banking and enrolling in eStatements within 60 days of account opening ($50 will be credited to the account by the last business day of the statement cycle following the 60th day the account has been open). Minors (anyone under the age of 18) are not eligible for Online Bill Pay.
- $50 loyalty bonus will be paid after the account has been open for 12 months ($50 will be credited to the account by the last day of the statement cycle following the 365th day the account has been open).

I’m in Middlesex County.
The Availability line needs to be updated. I’m also in Middlesex County and opened an account last month.
I can’t say the current situation. I am also in middlesex country, MA and opened my account in July last year. The $200+$50 party were deposited in Sept. Waiting for the last $50 before closing account.
got “unable to open account” after setting everything up, and a fake phone number to call (888-123-4567). likely chex sensitive.
After applying online, the initial funding will go through after two trial deposits; however, the account used for the initial funding will not be added to the list of external accounts. The external account will have to be added to the list, with another pair of trial deposits, followed by an email asking for a phone call for confirmation.
11/3/23: Opened “Get Real Checking” account, deposited $25, enrolled in e-statements,
11/20/23: received debit card, did 5 small debit transactions (amazon reloads) in lieu of direct deposit, and 5 bill payments (just in case needed to meet eligibility)
2/1/24: received $250 bonus. ($50 more available if account kept open for 12 mos.)
Trash, tried from NH, Application Failed, cant open. Wouldnt bother unless your super close to a branch.
I opened the account online on 12/30/2023. The initial funding must be either through ACH from another bank (using the account and routing number) or by mailing a check. Credit card funding is not an option.
I opened all 3 (abington, bankesb, bankhometown) mid June did a mix of 5 real debit purchases and amazon reloads per account and enrolled in eStatements. Payout was on 8/31. Will keep each account open for a year for the final bonus.

Just curious, would you say they’re Chex sensitive? What were your Chex numbers at the time of applying?
