Multi-Tab Trick Working on Marriott Amex Offer Deal [Others Offers Too?]

Earlier today we posted about the offer to get $60 off $300 at Marriott, widely available on many Amex cards under the ‘Amex Offers’ section. Readers in the comments there note that this offer is working with the multi-tab trick to save on many cards under a single SSN.

Amex used to allow us to do this with all offers, but then changed on August 1st to limit each Amex Offer deal to one-per-SSN. For this Marriott offer, specifically, the multi-tab trick is working to save the offer on multiple cards. Like always, the offer disappears if you add it to one card in a login, but if you have cards in separate logins or if you use the multi-tab method it’s working to add to all cards.

A reader also notes that there’s a direct link which can bring you to the Marriott offer and you’ll see it either available to add or already added. americanexpress.com/marriottoffer (login required) I can’t duplicate this link for other Amex Offer deals, I’d guess there’s something different about this offer.

The broader implication here is that not all Amex Offers are coded to be one per SSN, we’ll have to keep an eye out in the future to see which ones can be saved on multiple cards. Right now it’s just the Marriott offer that works on multiple cards, but there could be some that are not limited to one-per-SSN. I guess it’s also possible this is just a glitch/mistake, but hopefully it’s more about partner offers not having the limitations of regular Amex Offers.

Anyone have any luck getting the $60 credit on more than one card? I got it added on three cards but after I used it on my SPG Lux card I noticed when I click on the offer on my other cards it says 0 remaining.

Have been late on this. Reporting back that it no longer works for me.

It appeared on all 7 of my cards, yet the multi-tab method did not work for me. Also, the direct link only shows the two cards that I was able to activate.
I hope the broader implication here is not that, post clawbacks, that AMEX realized that this was an error and decided to seal it off… Proceed with caution.

Negative DP here unfortunately. Tried with SPG and SPG Luxury using two Chrome ingcognito windows (logged in separately) and it didn’t work on the second card =/

After the Aug 1st changes I decided to keep the separate logins for all my cards. This am I went to add the Amex offer on one card and rightfully so it disappeared from all the other logins. Fortunately you guys posted the direct link to the offer so I was able to add it to the other cards I have. thanks Doc!
I don’t recommend having multiple logins anymore at this point but rather just one login and keep on trying the multi-tab trick.

Update: Used this Amex offer on all the cards I had added it to and received the Cashback on each card. Fingers crossed it won’t get clawed back.

It worked on all of my 4 AmEx Cards for the “Spend $300 or more, get $60 back at Kimpton Hotels” offer. Used the multi-tab method. This method won’t work on most of the offers anymore.

When the first article about this method no longer working came out a while back on doctorofcredit.com, I noticed that it still worked for certain offers on my AmEx cards. But I thought maybe it’s just a system loophole/glitch. But apparently, even today, it still works on select offers.

Just tried same browser 10 mins apart.

Worked on 2 cards. First worked on SPG biz, then same browser used the link provided and worked on HHonors biz 10 mins later.

Can someone please do me the favor and see if this will work on the Nest offer $40 off $199 and report back? Unfortunately I already added it and didn’t even try the multi tab trick, and I could use more than one of the offers.

The multi-tab method doesn’t work for the Nest offer. Tried it myself.
