Avoiding Fees
Reliance Checking $7 Monthly Fee
This account is the easiest to keep fee free, the $7 monthly charged is waived if you do any of the following:
- $1500 average daily balance OR
- $400 aggregated monthly direct deposit
- or ten (10) signature based Fidelity Visa® Check Card transactions
Early Account Termination Fee
There is a fee if closed within 180 days, but I’m unsure what this fee is.
Our Verdict
Previous best bonus was $200, that required a savings account but lower direct deposit/recurring credit. This new bonus is significantly better because the bonus is $400 and the direct deposit/recurring credit isn’t that difficult to meet. Because of that we will be adding this to our list of the best bank bonuses.

Fidelity is ok with having some other institution use the same name?
There’s another Fidelity bank here at MA as well. https://www.fidelitybankonline.com/
During the initial funding, the website does not let you fund more than (IIRC) 11k max between checking and savings (at least for funding via bank account), so it is impossible to meet the requirements for savings ($200 bonus) and the requirement for both checking and savings to be met ($100 bonus). This was on 10/4, let me know if anyone was able to fund the entire 15k to savings.
I mentioned this to Fidelity Bank via SM on approval–they said they will note this and pass it on to the tech department and that I should receive the bonus (full bonus?) assuming all requirements are met. I deposited 9.5k to savings and 1.5k to checking (to waive checking fee) and deposited 5.5k afterwards for the 15k, but am honestly quite hesitant to leave 15k for 3 months in savings for potentially no bonus.
Hi kitty.
Hello Kitty
Any success opening out of state ?
That’s what I’m wondering. I see that they only have branches in PA, but I don’t see anywhere where it has qualification requirements based on location. I must be missing something but was it just assumed that this is location restricted or have people been denied for being out of footprint / oos? Thanks.
The new offer also requires customer to open a savings account and deposit 15,000 in the account and maintain that amount for 180 days.
This ^.
William Charles please update post.
Updated, thanks
It’s 3 consecutive months. Also, were you able to initially fund all 15k assuming you’ve applied? There was an initial funding limit of 11k IIRC so meeting the savings account requirement is technically impossible–I’ve mentioned this to them and they’ve said they’ve noted this for their tech department.
Found via Google… no expiration?
Looks like the link is dead.
For the debit card transactions, the post mentioned point of sale but wondering if I could use it for online purchases instead. Not really going out much these days and doing most things online. Sorry for the dumb question, never had an offer where I MUST use the credit card in addition to the direct deposit as well.
Thanks!
I’m also wondering this. Anyone know?
