William Charles Opened this OOF early last week. Update and current status: This “fall” promotion is still ongoing, even though they’ve removed it their website, good through the end of year for sure. No longer possible to open in person as all their branches are now closed/open for special case appointments only, so that rules out any OOS/OOF. However, if in footprint, should open account through regular checking links on their website, customer service will follow up to confirm all and that’s the time to make sure the “500checking” promo is attached. They will honor it.

Fidelity is ok with having some other institution use the same name?

During the initial funding, the website does not let you fund more than (IIRC) 11k max between checking and savings (at least for funding via bank account), so it is impossible to meet the requirements for savings ($200 bonus) and the requirement for both checking and savings to be met ($100 bonus). This was on 10/4, let me know if anyone was able to fund the entire 15k to savings.

I mentioned this to Fidelity Bank via SM on approval–they said they will note this and pass it on to the tech department and that I should receive the bonus (full bonus?) assuming all requirements are met. I deposited 9.5k to savings and 1.5k to checking (to waive checking fee) and deposited 5.5k afterwards for the 15k, but am honestly quite hesitant to leave 15k for 3 months in savings for potentially no bonus.

That’s what I’m wondering. I see that they only have branches in PA, but I don’t see anywhere where it has qualification requirements based on location. I must be missing something but was it just assumed that this is location restricted or have people been denied for being out of footprint / oos? Thanks.

The new offer also requires customer to open a savings account and deposit 15,000 in the account and maintain that amount for 180 days.

It’s 3 consecutive months. Also, were you able to initially fund all 15k assuming you’ve applied? There was an initial funding limit of 11k IIRC so meeting the savings account requirement is technically impossible–I’ve mentioned this to them and they’ve said they’ve noted this for their tech department.

For the debit card transactions, the post mentioned point of sale but wondering if I could use it for online purchases instead. Not really going out much these days and doing most things online. Sorry for the dumb question, never had an offer where I MUST use the credit card in addition to the direct deposit as well.

Thanks!

I’ll try posting again – https://www.bankatfidelity.com/500checking

It’s not a referral link – are we not allowed to post correct links?

I opened the account in branch on 06/22. Closest branch is over 150 miles away. A manager called a few days later to ask why I opened the account and if I intended to actually use it.
06/25 $2501 Discover scheduled transfer
07/27 $799.75 APMEX ACH deposit
07/31 $2501 Discover scheduled transfer
08/29 $2501 Discover scheduled transfer
10/01 $2501 Discover scheduled transfer
After that monthly transfers of $404 to avoid fees (Discover manual transfer).

Did you actually do 5 point-of-sale transactions or did something like 5x Amazon reloads per month work?
