Avoiding Fees
The basic checking account has no monthly fees to worry about. Previously they have also charged an early account termination fee of $5 if closed within 90 days.
Our Verdict
It’s a shame that this is a hard pull to open as it’s a really nice bonus considering there is no direct deposit requirement or monthly fee to worry about. They have previously offered similar bonuses, but with more requirements (including direct deposit). TruMark also has a 7% APY 7 month CD. Unfortunately due to the hard pull we don’t recommend this bonus, you’d be better off with a cash credit card sign up bonus instead.

If anyone sees this bonus or similar appear again, please update. One of my employers banks here, it can take them forever to send me a check (they don’t do DD and checks are manual) but apparently if I get an account @ trumark I can get it within a day of them receiving the payment to divvy up amongst us workers. Somehow I missed this bonus last year.
Opened account 6/5/18, no HP. (I always opt out of the overdraft, maybe if you didn’t that triggers the HP? ) Completed the debit transactions 7/17. Just waiting on the rewards now.
Update-
6/5/18 – 1k CC funding on CSP
7/17/18 – last of 10 debit transactions completed (mix of Amazon reload and small POS purchases)
9/12/18 – was told the 21,300 had been credited to the account
~9/15/18 – is when I actually saw them in the account
Why the odd number of points? A $50 GC is 7700, $100 GC is 13,600
points = 21,300. Points can be used for merchandise or travel, but the easiest redemption is just take the GC’s. I did find on the site a cash option mentioned, but I didn’t pursue it as the rate was terrible (5000 pts = $25).
Supposedly the earn rate on debit card transactions is 1 pt / $5, but spending ~$23 only earned me 3 points. (not that anyone should actually do this!)
I did this when the CD was posted a few weeks ago. There’s a branch right near me. Opening the account online and CD in-branch was painless. CC funding was nice. If you add it all up its a decent bonus, though the tax hit mitigates it some.
Was it a HP?.
Hard pull.
I dunno, I don’t have a convenient way to check. I’m told it is
