Did anyone close this account? If yes, how did you do it?
I sent a message to close my account and I received the following
“Hello

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry you are leaving us. If there is anything, we can do to encourage you to stay please let us know!

In order to process this request, we require a written statement with a physical signature and a copy of your ID. Please be sure to include your account number, date and reason for closure.
You can send the information one of the following ways:

Write us a short letter with the date, address, request to close and your wet signature (electronic signatures will not be accepted). This can be sent to us:

Email **********
Mail SkyOne FCU
Attn: Operations Dept.
P O Box 5003 Hawthorne CA 90251-9801

If there are funds remaining in the account at the time of closure a check will be mailed to your address on file.”

It’s weird they have this process in place. I already drained my account.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but I just wanted to say that I finally got my $500 back from my failed credit card funding fiasco with this bank. Neither they nor Citi could figure out what happened, but the NCUA was able to figure it out. They said that my dispute with Citi never went through, which is why the credit union kept clawing my $500 back. I still wouldn’t recommend doing credit card funding with this bank, but at least it’s good to know that you can go through the NCUA to solve any issues that you may have with this credit union. Thanks Gadget - Bank Bonus Geek for all of your help.

William Charles Might be worth updating that the $100 bonuses for the “Baseball” promo appear to be going though. Mine posted today after opening checking & savings accounts on 10/14 and completing other requirements.

ANybody know if these guys claw back a bonus for early account closure? Bonus received months ago, my account has been open for more than 180 days and I want to close it.

Opened a savings and checking account with them with this promo, and they emailed me saying they had to do an audit on “all new accounts opened.” They put a hold on my opening deposit funds (funded with a Citi Rewards+ credit card) until I sent them a copy of a most recent utility bill, paystub and a copy of my ID with my current address on it. The funds are available now. Also, IIRC, the $500 CC funding is combined savings and checking.

Oh, and I had about 15+ Chex inquiries at the time, unsure if it was related to that.

I haven’t received the BASEBALL $100 bonus yet. Opened account on 10/14. Anybody else in the same boat?

Any other recent success with BASEBALL? Nothing for me and message asking about it had an initial reply a couple of weeks ago and then nothing to my follow-up. Perhaps they are all locked down.

I finally got $50 showing as BASEBALL promo 1/14 into my checking account. Not sure if that is the checking or savings bonus, but I tried for both.

The new link is https://www.skyone.org/holiday-promo/

This promo seems a little different than the last one. Doesn’t look like you are eligible for a new checking account if you are already a member, but it’s not crystal clear.

did past promotions like the homerun need a direct deposit (two consecutive months of 1k) like this one does?

Opened 5 Oct, $100 bonus posted to savings 18 Nov. Pulled $, closed by phone 24 Nov with $5 to be mailed to me. Now I see this offer with no mention of a time limit for previous member. Looks like I can apply again.

The language does note “This offer is intended for new members only”… but at least in the text in this post, it *does* have no mention of a time limit. The bank is a pain to deal with, but for anyone willing to deal with that, constant churning could be interesting if it’s possible to do.
