Are you sure about the Longhorn Steakhouse deal? You indicate it as $10 off a $20 purchase, but after I went through the twitter hassle, the terms come up as:
“Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $40 or more”
25% discount then — ok, fair, but I can do just as well on restaurant gift cards (via Kroger or elsewhere) — and without all the “idiotic” twitter hassle.
I have the same feelings as Jonathan. Mine is also only $10/$40.
I was so happy when I saw “Spend $20 at LongHorn Steakhouse and receive a $10 statement credit.” since LongHorn is less than 2 miles from my house. Unfortunately, when I double check with AmexOffer, it is $10 statement over $40. I don’t think I can consume all my 15 amex cards by 12/6/15.
Yeah, $10 for spending $20 seemed to good to be true. Turns out it was. But for anyone who still wants to take advantage of this deal, just buy gift cards. That’s what I did for the recent Chili’s deal. Plus you’ll maximize your earnings by not spending more than you need to with any credit card.
