[Expired]Stop & Shop: $20 Off Next Order When You Purchase $100 In Third Party Gift Cards (11/10-11/30)

This offer has expired, sign up for instant notifications to avoid missing any deals in the future.

[Reposting since it’s now live. Hopefully this deal is stackable with the other gift card deals until November 13th, as noted in the post. Let us know your experiences.]

The Offer

  • Earn $20 off your next shop with any $100 gift card purchase

This offer is showing for Stopandshop. Looks like Giant might be running a 5x fuel points deal instead. Check your local store to see what their deal is.

The Fine Print

  • Valid until November 10th until November 30th
  • Coupon expires 12/7/17
  • Stop and Shop gift cards/American Express/ Mastercard & Visa cards are all excuded
  • Coupon will automatically print
  • One offer per transaction
  • Coupon cannot be used towards the purchase of a gift card

Our Verdict

Make sure you use a credit card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases. Reselling some of the gift cards would be profitable if you value the $20 off at face value. Shame that VGC & MGC are excluded but $20 off would have been too good to be true on those.

Especially interesting here is that there’s also a dozen gift card deals going on through November 13th. Ideally, the deal will go like this: buy $100 in Best Buy (example) gift cards along with $20 in groceries and pay just $100. On the receipt you’ll get a $20 voucher for free groceries. If this works properly, you’ll end up with $40 in free groceries with $100 gift card.

Have any of you tried to buy more than a total of 10 $100 gc to test if the term on the coupon “LIMIT 10 OFFERS PER HOUSEHOLD” is enforced by the system? If so, what happened?

Not enforced at all

Does anyone know if the coupon works to get $20 off a gift card or does it have to be groceries only?

It does not work on gift cards.

You can combine purchase of 2 different gift cards. If you have offers for $10 in groceries for $50 macys and $10 with kohls. You can get $20 off in single transaction and get a coupon for $20 off your next groceries purchase as well. Just make sure that the groceries total is $20+ and your final payment at checkout is $100+ (with the 2 gift cards) else you wont get the additional coupon.

I have a lower threshold than most who are in this hobby. I just bought this deal and cried uncle after a few. I don’t buy amazon here because I typically am able to buy amazon at 15-20% easily in amounts where I have enough for the year for all my spend there (not enough to resell though).

Anyways I bought Best Buy, Toys R Us, Sears, Gamestop and then I called it quits.
Assuming I paid full price on the gift cards — ultimately spent like $4 on $130 of somewhat overpriced groceries……

FWIW, you can’t buy $50 Gamestop/$50 Macys and get $10+$10+ $20 off.

Where/how are you getting 15-20% off Amazon gift cards?

Amazon GCs DO work. The coupon prints and clearly says “1 per household” but is not hardcoded so YMMV. It also says “10 offers per household” indicating you can buy 10 I believe (but use in different shopping trips). You need to have a cart of $20 or it won’t work.

You CAN use these at self-checkout but don’t get too greedy because the S&S system can be tricky. The coupon will say $0 discount until you insert the coupon into the designated slot then it will take the $20 off.

does anyone know what the limit is for this offer. is it once per account?

The bottom of the receipt says 10 offers per household, so I gambled. I have bought multiple $100 amazon gift cards using the same S&S card/account and have received multiple $20 off receipts. Each $20 off receipt has the same barcode #, but they keep the receipt upon presenting/using it, so that may still mean you can use it more than once per account. I will use my second $20 off receipt tomorrow and if I don’t report back, that means it applies more than once per account.

I’m not sure of the cap but I can verify that I did successfully use two coupons with two he same bar code number, both originating from the dame stopnshop member card.

hi Steve,
Can you confirm you didn’t have to buy any other minimum grocery purchase, just the $100 Gift cards to get the $20 certificate/receipt?
I know with gas rewards there is a minimum but in my area, this is not the 5x gas rewards deal so I am hoping no minimum purchase.

Hi Joy, yes that’s correct – I didn’t purchase anything else on multiple transactions and still received the $20 off coupon/receipt.

Another DP: You can buy $20 of groceries while purchasing a $100+ GC, use a $20 off coupon/receipt for the groceries, and then receive an additional $20 off coupon/receipt for the GC purchase, all in one transaction. The checkout people are usually amused by this.

The thing is this is not an easy deal for me… it’s hard work to go back and forth … buying $20/$40 of groceries…..

Just do your grocery shopping, grab the gift card and ring up the gift card first. Then follow it up with the purchase of your groceries using the coupon printed immediately prior.

I have had that not work, I was told the coupon can’t be used the same day you get it. I don’t know if that’s true or not.

I only had the Staples $10 off $50 available on my account. But i bought a $100 staples gift card with $10+ in groceries and it took the $10 off and the $20 coupon printed on the recipt. So looks like it stacked for me. Just wish i had more deal available like best buy.

Bought $100 Best Buy gift card. Got the 5x points and $20 off groceries (in same purchase) from the load to card offer. Deals stack at Giant in PA.
