[Expired] Swagbucks: Get $70/$75 Cashback with New Blue Apron Signup

Update 9/14/19: Bonus has been increased to $70/$75. Definitely worth doing now.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Swagbucks is offering 7,000 points (worth $70) when you sign up for a new Blue Apron subscription. You also get $20 off your first three orders. Some people are being offered $75

The Fine Print

  • SB will appear as Pending for 32 days.
  • $60 savings will be split over your first three orders.
  • You will receive $20 off your first, second, and third box.
  • Offer only available to new Blue Apron customers.
  • If you cancel your subscription within 30 days, your SB will be revoked. SB will be revoked if combined with any other codes, coupons, discounts or offers.
  • If you make a purchase without having a genuine interest in the product/service being offered, any SB awarded will be revoked and your Swagbucks account may be terminated for violation of our terms requiring honest and legitimate member behavior.

Our Verdict

Cheapest plan is 2 recipes per week for $27.95 after discount (plus shipping) or you can do three recipes per week for $39.94 with free shipping. American Express is offering 10% back on meal delivery kits as well. You need to keep your subscription for 30 days, but you can pause orders to make this a money maker – although I’m not 100% sure if paused orders will still trigger the Swagbucks. It might make more sense to wait for the Ibotta deal to return instead.

If you’re new to Swagbucks then please read our review. You can also get a bonus of up to $13 by using a referral link.

I see 10% cash back for Blue Apron on chase offers, too.

I looked but did not have this.

Did anyone try to do both offers, the ibotaa and Swagbucks at the same time? Using different emails, credit cards.

ibotta won’t let you to the same address. Billing address will be an issue as well

I already did the Ibotta deal and it’s pending now. Thinking of doing the Swagbucks deal by using a different card, email and a billing address without my apartment number just the leasing office. Not sure if it would work.

That would work

Anybody have reviews on Blue Apron itself? Is it suitable for lazy remedial cooks (my people), or is it aimed at those who are good at cooking but just don’t want to go shopping?

I think what I’m really asking is if they chop the ingredients ahead of time or you have to do it yourself.

Some things come chopped, most you’ll need to chop. But they haven’t given me anything too difficult/unwieldy to deal with.

Everything is included but you still have to chop ingredients and actually cook. The recipe cards are great though and very easy to read. Still it’s not as simple as just warming it up.

It is not difficult to cook, and the recipes/ingredients are good. But still it would take ~1 hour per meal so not for the lazy cooks per se.

You’ll have to do the chopping for Blue Apron. I think Home Chef might be a good option for you. https://www.moneyunder30.com/meal-delivery-comparison

Thank you everyone for the advice! I appreciate this comparison link and will check it out. Maybe I’ll even give Blue Apron a try. (I’m not incapable of food prep, just slow and unconfident, and stretched for time during the workweek.)

I just made my first blue apron meal.

Do you have to chop stuff? Some things yes, some things no. Chicken came pre-chopped. Zucchini and nectarine you were on your own though.

I don’t consider myself an expert chef, but I can follow a recipe. I’d consider blue apron to be pretty decent for lazy people that want to cook but don’t want to try that hard.

I just did this because of the signup offer with Drop and the general discount paid me for the first week.

I’m baffled by whoever the demographic is that would use Blue Apron long-term though. If you don’t know how to cook and want to learn you should figure it out in just a few weeks. If you’re truly crunched for time you’d just order out or eat in a restaurant. If you’re looking to eat healthy you’d be healthier making stuff on your own in bulk for the week. If you’re trying to make the best food you’d head to the grocery store and pick out your own stuff for your own recipe you found. If you’re trying to eat really cheap you’d also head to the grocery store and grab something frozen.

Thanks for your detailed review! I agree, looking at the prices I’m not sure who these services work for. Maybe people who don’t live near commercial areas with easy access to grocery stores?

I want to start a subscription service where I deliver recipes and ingredients, and the customers cook the food and give me back half of it. Then everyone will be happy!

How is this enforced, or even enforceable? I do lots of SB offers and cancel eventually…

Just did using different email.
I did ibotta deal couple of months back.

Did you use the save email id as your swagbucks login for blue apron?

They give you the option to start the deliveries up to 3 and a half weeks out from today. Do you think that it would be a problem to push it out 3 weeks or do you think that might throw up red flags?

I did this a couple hours ago and pushed it out as far as I could to Oct 17th. Just got an email from SB saying it has gone pending and should credit 10/16.

I just did this offer last night and don’t see a pending under my SB activity or shop activity.

I always get an email once it goes pending. Sometimes instantly but usually in a couple hours. Incognito mode seems to be the most important step in making sure stuff tracks! I haven’t had any not track since following the tips located here https://www.doctorofcredit.com/10-tips-for-getting-a-cash-backpointsmiles-portal-to-track-correctly/

Same. Dead.
Not sure why Doc suggested waiting for the Ibotta deal that’s $50 instead of this at $70?

Linda

Well, that was fast. I just got the targeted email on Saturday and there was no expiration date listed.
