Our Verdict
Standard high bonus on this card has been 50,000 points after $4,000 in spend. Although we have seen 50,000 + $100 before as well. This 70,000 offer is a new high and definitely worth doing if you’re targeted. We won’t be adding this to the best credit card bonus page due to this being a targeted offer. If you’re thinking of applying, make sure you read these things everybody should know about American Express cards first.

So my long-time, non-married partner received this offer in the mail today. She may not be interested to use it, but I would love to take advantage of it. My Platinum Card is about to expire (Don’t want to pay $450 again) but I’d really like to be able to transfer my points to the gold card so I don’t lose them. Do you think that I can apply for this promo since I have the code or whatever?

Could someone who actually _was_ targeted provide your stats: number of Amex cards, if you have a Green or Plat, x/12, x/24, avg Amex spend, any sock drawered Amex cards, etc

Gah I would love if my husband would get one of these offers. I have the gold card now usually it’s my most used card. I order from boxed each month for the $10 credit. I’m bummed Amex isn’t offering anything to mitigate that $100 Airline credit and with the reserve offering 5x groceries right now, my gold card is collecting dust.
Reserve stopped grocery 5% June 30th.
Oops should have clarified – the 5x with instacart – I’m using only that till case numbers near me simmer down a little
I am surprised at how much worse boxed has become over the past couple of years. The selection is really limited and prices are usually even higher than at Amazon/Walmart/Target.

Does your gold card have a 20,000 point offer for referrals? If you get 20,000 MR for referring, and he gets the 40,000 MR signup bonus, that is almost as good.

I got the 50k for 2k in spend back in May 2019 but this offer is probably a bit better than 50k even with the spending increase. Jealous I can’t get this
Great offer…I’ve been using the $10 monthly Shake Shack rebate and the current $5 discount on local business purchases (up to $50 in total value), so that’s $170 value, even without using any other Amex offers. If there were a way to get a second one, I’d be right there. And I admit, I like the way the rose gold card looks.

Yeah totally. Nobody here uses credit cards either.
VERY easy to get ROI on this card…its silly to simply look at the AF without the context of the other benefits
