Our Verdict

This offer has no lifetime language. 150,000 is the standard ‘high bonus’ on this card but the advantage to this offer is the lack of that no lifetime language meaning you can get the bonus again even if you’ve had the card before. We recently saw a targeted 175,000 offer as well, but that contained the lifetime language. As this is targeted we won’t be adding it to the best credit card bonuses.

I saw that points earned on spending through the end of the year count towards Lifetime Diamond status. Any idea if the signup bonus points count as well? I didn’t see a distinction between them anywhere.

I applied for Hilton Aspire Card in May and got Sign up Bonus last month. Only the points earned through spend is appearing as base points in my account. The sign up bonus does not appear as base points.

All the bonus categories and sign up bonus appear as different line items in points activity. So, they do distinguish them.

DP: I applied for the Surpass Card on 6/27 with this same SUB: 3K/150K, wasn’t targeted. Just used incognito and was approved. Just finished completing the SUB yesterday.

William Charles Perhaps this might not be targeted after all.

opened the card link thru incognito and was able to replicate the offer

But if I go through Google, I do see this” Welcome Offer not available to applicants who have or have had the Hilton Honors Surpass® Card or the Hilton Honors Amex Ascend Card. American Express may also consider the number of American Express Cards you have opened and closed as well as other factors in making a decision on your welcome offer eligibility.” – which means the offer has lifetime language isn’t?

“Card will earn 12x at supermarkets from May 1 – July 31.”
The supermarket bonus only goes until July 31st, not the end of the year as the comment in this article says. Your article that you post the link to is correct.

If I apply for this one now, can I later receive an offer on one with lifetime language or does it only work the other way around?

What?! No lifetime language and no one has found a leaked link yet?!

Most likely Amex will clawback the bonus from a leaked link anyway.
