[Targeted] American Express Premier Rewards Gold 50,000 Point Offer – No Lifetime Language

The Offer

No direct link, link contains a unique invite code that is required. E-mail subject line is ‘<name>: Your offer to apply to earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points is inside’

  • American Express is sending out targeted e-mails for 50,000 points after $2,000 in spend within the first three months on the Premier Rewards Gold card. The offer I saw did not have the lifetime language, please check your own offer for this language.

Card Details

Our Verdict

We’ve seen offers for 65,000 points before, but that was split over two years. The nice thing about this offer is that it doesn’t contain the once per lifetime language (although double check your offer). If you haven’t had the card before, you might be better off trying to get an offer that only requires spend of $1,000. If you have had the card before then I’d jump on it as it’s rare you get another opportunity to get the bonus again.

Just received 50000 points bonus. This is my second PGR bonus in less than two years.

Any rumor that this card will be revamped?

People were saying that the referral has been removed for this card on uscreditcardguide. In my amex account, the 50k sign-up bonus has been there for over half a year but it is gone today.

Looks like I was targeted for 75k for the gold business card which I think I will take advantage of.

I have the fancy snail mail offer – one came in May with June 1st expiration. Applied a few days before offer expired. A second one came in late June with August 1st expiration while I already had the card from the offer came in May.
Both offers are 50K/$2K first year AF waived.

This is my 3rd PRG in <5 years. 1st was a leaked offer targeted for international market. 2nd was a targeted offer by both email and snail mail, same 50K but only $1K spend needed. Same first year AF waived. The 2nd card was closed just over 1 year in Apr 2017.
Then here came another targeted offer which I took it.

MSR on the card from first offer was met in 2nd billing cycle and the bonus posted a few days after that. Spend pts did not show pending until statement closed, AND remain pending despite statement balance was promptly paid off. I suspect it will be After the next statement closes before the Pending Pts will turn into Available Pts. Does not matter to me.

I am curious, did anyone had received multiple targeted offers with different invitation code and offer code applied both? I am tempted but thought I should not push my luck. 🙂

On related note – spousal unit never sees PRG targeted offer despite he had longer history with AMEX and had the card before. He on the other hand received far better targeted DL offers than me, and always received HHonor targeted offers on both new or upgrade.

How AMEX generates targeted offer is a real mystery. but they definitely award bonus, as well as bypass the new check based what is reported on the net, though scanty DPs.

Are the targeted offers hard keyed to your name or are they transferable ?

I received the offer ($2000 in 3 months), even though I had this card in the past.
Deleted the email since not interested. Wish I read it tho, in order to share any language it may have included.

My Green Card Annual Fee of $95 posted and I called Amex retention. They offered to upgrade the Green Card to PRG with 40K MR bonus after $2K spend, annual fee not waived. I’ve never had the card: should I go for the upgrade?

Not if you’ve never had the PRG. You can get 50kMR with $2k spend pretty easily on incognito offers, and that’s with the AF waived the first year.

Without receiving the email, I have also seen the same offer when logging in. It was one of the “amex offers” under the blue card, but not other cards like plat or everyday. It appeared a week or two ago, after not having been there previously.

I already have the card and received a mailer with a code. Can I apply again or its an amex glitch ?

Also does anyone know if amex magnet cashback stacks with blue cash everyday like MR points or cash cards have separate earnings ?

Cashback cannot be combined across accounts.

Not true, I have 2 PRG’s (not AU cards, 50k bonuses posted on both). It’s actually rather annoying as they both have the same last 5 digits, trying to figure out which is which can be a pain, have to remember which expiration date is which. Afraid to cancel one because they might cancel the wrong one. It’s a headache.
