Got spend $100 get $15 twice back on plat
As warned by Kane below groupon is claiming they don’t see the transaction and won’t pay the $20. I always think of the time I waste sometimes for $20 and whether it’s worth it. Amex paid right away. Live and learn I guess? I will however comment in any future groupon threads like Kane did to warn others.
Nice stack. 9 bottles of Kim Crawford SB for ~67$ before tax. Costco sells 3 packs for 33.99.
Nice.Thanks!!
If you can get in to a Costco, their Kirkland brand SB is from the same vineyard as KC. Tastes identical and is $6.99 a bottle
Will taste test it. I’ve tried their Pinot Grigio and thought it was pretty bad. Happy to be surprised though.
I always have problem with Groupon cashback with Amex, I did this last time and did not receive cashback with Groupon, had to contact them and they gave me $20 Groupon cash, never have problem with chase card and Groupon cash back though.
Couple things, 1st GA isn’t on the list for states that can participate in the 20 off 100 Groupon according to terms, even though we have B&M stores, check your state beforehand
2nd, our B&M codes as grocery under Amex, attach it to a category card for more value, YMMV on the coding.
That may be a legal thing – some states do not allow sales/coupons/rebates on alcohol as it is considered to encourage drinking by the government.
Always just assumed this was one of those mail order companies and added it to a green I never use to get it off my other cards. Just realized this liquor store is right down the street and from searching seems reasonably priced. Wonder if I can just buy a gift card for $100 and have it code Dec 31 or even better buy a gift card online? Would definitely shop there for wine and beer but have no real need to stock up on $100 worth of liquor tomorrow.
Some of them also take competitors coupons fwiw. Mine takes BevMo coupons no issues. Have to do it in store at the register because it requires a managers approval but they’ve never given me issues. Others report managers being sticklers about stuff and doing anything no to honor a competition coupon so ymmv.
I had no idea Groupon had a stack on this as well!
Oh lol. You can see the whole discussion about this a couple comments above 😆
Yeah 40% off something that I would normally buy and is reasonably priced is a no brainer. Dont think we have any bevmos here in st louis. I saw somebody bought a gift card bit didnt really elaborate. Would love to list do it online but the one day left has me a bit worried. I guess the groupon would still work for $20.
If I should spend $100 and trigger both Groupon+ and Amex, would Amex claw back the offer like they did to double dipping in Dell?
I have had this deal in the past and have purchased gift cards online-no problems triggering the credit.
The amex offer that is, I have not tried the groupon offer.
Use code SHIPWINE for free shipping 🙂
Buying gcs at Total Wine has always triggered the Amex offer for me.
can i ask if you bought the gcs in store or online
Buying GC in store worked for me in the past.
Buying $100 Gift cards online has worked for me.
What GC’s are available in store?
Buying pGCs in store yesterday got me the emails. However, you can’t redeem pGCs online only in store, and can’t use the card number you need the pGC physically there.
Our Total Wine takes competitor’s coupons so we stack Amex offers with BevMo coupons. (BevMo coupons aren’t nearly as restrictive as Total Wine’s tend to be fyi.) Total Wine’s mix-6 discount stacks with both!
Did you use a physical coupon from mail?
Yes. And I’ve used coupons BevMo emails.
our makes it hard to do that….have to go to customer service desk, they try to weasel out of things etc.
its rare anyways that their prices are better on the stuff I buy vs Costco, or even my local supermarket (which has a crazy good fine wine section), or K&L wines
what BevMo coupons does yours accept?
All of the BevMo coupons, $10 off $50, $10 off $75 come to mind as ones we’ve used. We get them via mail & email, BevMo is pretty persistent. And they don’t give us any issues, the clerk calls the manager type person over who looks at the coupon and then types in our discount at the register and we’re on way. Bummer about yours!
The manager tries to tell me stuff like: take a picture of the price in another store that’s better than ours, and then we’ll match. WTF. if I’m in another store, and looking at a price that’s better than TW’s, why would I come back to your store to buy the bottle? I guess maybe I could take pictures constantly and save them up for a time I could use them there….but in general I find that annoying.
I’m assuming you know this, but a huge spectrum of TW’s inventory are propriety labels they have made up. They’re not real brands, just private labels that are concocted to make it look like there’s a big choice there. It would be like Costco taking 10 different Kirkland house brand wines, and renaming them differently, rather than just ‘Kirkland’. That’s what they want to sell, not the big nationally known names that you can price compare with other stores, or just intrinsically know the value of.
Wow. Your store sucks tbh… We don’t buy their winery direct stuff or wineries we aren’t familiar with, we go with what we know. Wines we’ve bought there include Ancient Peaks, Hahn, 14 Hands, Mumm & Chandon off the top of my head. We always price check our local BevMo but when we add an Amex offer it usually puts Total Wine as the better deal.
$20 off $100 or $50 off $250
$20 off $100, let me fix
