Our Verdict

American Express have been offering a lot of different AmEx offers on cell phones and cable internet recently (e.g here & here), looks like they really want to get as many recurring charges on cards as possible. One thing to keep in mind with these offers is that you can usually prepay your cell phone bill to lock in the discount. I am currently in a monthly device payment plan with Verizon. As of now there is $500 balance on the device. IF I used the enrolled Amex card to pay off the device, am I eligible to get the $30 back?

Thanks.

If I pay twice, and each time I pay $150. Will I get full $30 back ?($15 + $15) Or does it only work for one payment?

0/4. Dang. But, I was targeted for the 10% off of your cable bill offer on 2 of my cards….which I won’t use since we don’t have a cable/internet bill.

Received on my Amex Hilton (no AF)

I’ve been using my WF card to pay my cell bill for the insurance/protection. What I am unclear on with WF’s terms is how regularly I have to pay my bill with their card to earn this protection?

Spouse also received offer on Amex EveryDay Card. What I found interesting is she received 10% cash back up to $30, not MR points offer, although this is a MR earning card.

To expand on my initial question: if we prepaid our Verizon bill for $600 ($300 for each targeted card), but left WF as the autobill option, do you think WF would still cover any cell phone claims during the time that the account is prepaid?

This wouldn’t work on Project Fi right? Guess I’ll just leave it to my Discover card

Max of $30 or 3000 MR points. I wonder if I prepaid $300 I’d get the full $30 or just $10 since it was one payment?
