The Offer
No direct link, targeted offer
- Cathay Pacific is offering some members a bonus of up to 65,000 miles on the co-branded Synchrony credit card. Bonus broken down as follows:
- 35,000 miles after $2,500 in spend within the first 90 days
- Additional 30,000 miles after $2,500 extra spend within the first six months
Card Details
- Annual fee of $95 is not waived the first year
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 2x Asia miles per $1 spent on eligible Cathay Pacific travel and in-flight purchases
- 1.5x Asia miles per $1 spent on dining in the US or aboard
- 1.5x Asia miles per $1 spent on purchases outside of the US
- 1x Asia miles on all other purchases
- No foreign transaction fees
- Complimentary first year green tier membership in the Marco Polo Club (Cathay Pacific’s loyalty program. Green tier is their base level and as I understand it first year is always free. Second year onwards you need to pay $100 USD or earn 100 Club points).
- Not available to applicants who have or have had the Cathay Pacific Visa card. Not sure if this is enforced?
Our Verdict
Previous bonuses have been:
- 50,000 miles after $2,500 in spend
- 60,000 miles:
- 35,000 miles after $2,500 in spend within the first 90 days of account opening
- 25,000 miles when you spend an additional $7,500 in spend within the first 12 months
This is definitely better than the 60,000 mile deal as it’s more miles and less spend. When comparing it to the 50,000 mile deal it’s an extra 10,000 miles but requires an extra $2,500 in spend. That works out to be 4x per $1 spent (plus what you’d normally earn), I think most people would prefer the extra miles in that case.

Any idea if these offers are transferable? And also how to get targeted for the CX offers?
just sign up for an asia miles account and they’ll send you plenty of offers
I have this card and i have been receiving offers like this one, also i got this “An 8,000 Asia Miles” Bonus Offer (https://imgur.com/a/jYrGcRk) which is a no go for me, i called them about applying for another card and i was told that i can apply for another card but no bonus, just hanged out after that and never called back lol.
That’s a pretty solid MS opportunity!
The Asia Miles redemption chart has been changed recently, I think the one you have on this post is out of date
Thanks, let me fix
I’ll be very interested to know if this is indeed churnable. Me+spouse both received the bonus on this card in late 2017. Saw one random DP that it’s one bonus per rolling 12 months, but can’t confirm. We’ve been churning for 10 years now, so these more “fringe” cards are becoming more interesting to us.
How difficult is it to get approved?
We just closed our accounts a couple of weeks ago. I wonder how long we have to wait to churn?
I have to say that closing accounts with Synchrony was one of the most pleasant surprises of churning. They give you a button to click from the main menu and two seconds later you’re done.

Im on my 3rd months mark after cancelling, previous had it 50k offer and I tried to reapply it auto denied me for had the product before
Thanks for the DP. Wonder if 6 or 12 months will do it. I just cancelled myself a week ago but was wondering the same thing.
I’ve got this offer in my inbox. I signed up for an Asia Miles account awhile back and they keep sending me different offers.
The award chart can get pretty complex when partners are added into the mix and for online bookings a lot of US destinations have limited options. Also, as I’ve posted before, one key benefit is that you get access to award inventory 20+ days before it opens up for AA or Alaska.
