Our Verdict
This is basically a sign up bonus of 60,000 points after $6,000 in spend. Current public bonus is 40,000 points and there are in flight links for 50,000 points. We’ve also seen sign up bonuses for 60,000 points with a lower spend requirement. A sign up bonus of 60,000 points might be useful for getting the Southwest companion pass, especially when you consider there is an 80,000 point bonus on the business performance card and 60,000 on the business premier card.
Remember you won’t be eligible for the bonus if you have any other Southwest personal card. If you have any questions about Chase cards, I’d recommend reading this post first. Other posts you might be interested in:

Will this targeted offer bypass 5/24?
One negative of this offer is that it’s more difficult to time it for a nearly full 2-year companion pass. When the bonus comes all at once, you can spend in Nov/Dec and get the 50k/60k bonus all at once in January, which is not the case here.
I’m planning on getting a SW business card first (prob business performance 80k) in October, and tipping over the MSR to earn the SUB in January. Then get the personal card (like this one) in January to get to the 110k for companion pass. Crossing fingers that’ll work…
Sounds like a solid plan.
I also am hoping that the 80k offer will be available then. It is possible that both the 80 and even 60k offers will not be available at that time.
80k offer is supposed to be available until Oct. 16.
Where did you see the 10/16/19 date?

You have six months. You can get it now and start spending in December, yeah? Plus, assuming you pair with the 80k offer you only need 30k to get the pass and the timing of the rest doesn’t matter.
Compared to the 50k/2k this is basically 3.5x on 4k of spend, so those looking for MS outlets it might be interested.
That’s a fair point. The 6 months does provide flexibility.
That’s very true! Actually you can sign up now and then just spend in January
