[Expired] [Targeted] Citi Double Cash $50 Autopay Enrollment Bonus

Deal has expired, view more Citi deals here.

The Offer

No direct link, e-mail subject line is ‘Earn $50 back after you enroll in AutoPay — see how!’

Citi is sending out a targeted offer on their Double Cash card:

  • Enroll in Autopay and get a $50 bonus.

Must have at least $50 in autopay payments go through within the first three months, and must remain enrolled for at least three months to qualify.

The Fine Print

  • You will receive a one-time $50 statement credit after you enroll in AutoPay by 08/26/2018 and make payments through AutoPay totaling $50 or more in the first three consecutive months after enrollment.
  • Stay enrolled in AutoPay for at least three months to qualify for the offer.
  • You must pay at least the minimum due each month by the due date.
  • The statement credit will be applied to your account within 1 to 2 billing cycles after your last qualifying payment.
  • To qualify for this offer, your account must be open, current and in good standing when the statement credit is applied. If you convert to another Citi product, you may no longer be eligible for this offer.
  • Offer is non-transferable and only available for the account noted in this email.

Our Verdict

This is a ridiculously generous bonus for enrolling in auto-pay. Not honestly sure why the bank even cares. Regardless, worth checking your email for this one (Subject: Earn $50 back after you enroll in AutoPay — see how!).

I’ve had AutoPay set up since I got this card. Contacted Citi via Live Chat to ask if they could extend this offer to me as well but the Agent said they couldn’t find any information on this $50 AutoPay offer. But he right away offered me a $10 Rewards which I gladly accepted.

I went the chat route, rep checked my account and said I wasn’t eligible but could call the supervisor at the 800# and ask. I did not call…nor get the $10 alternate offer

I was not targeted for this promotion. I have had autopay enabled since i got the card when it first came out. I asked if this offer could be added to my account since i had not been incentivized for autopay before. They said it could not, but they did add $10 to my cash back bonus as a goodwill gesture. At least its free money.

Not targeted. I like that you can setup autopay to pay the statement balance. I never use autopay on anything. I don’t like losing the control, only make manual payments. I might be weird.

Probably because a lot of people don’t like to sign up for autopay, because people who do autopay are less likely to actually check their bill each month for possible fraudulant charges.

Not targeted. Always paid bill on time. Have had doublecash for years.

I just deleted my autopay from the card. I’ll update if they send me the offer.

Not sure if it’s just because of the low quality picture, but the graphics on this look so awful it’s crazy. Great deal!

Think the reason why they are doing it is that people are more likely to build up a balance, bounce a balance pay some money.
