Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

Neither account has any monthly fees to worry about

Early Account Termination Fee

$20 if closed within 90 days

Our Verdict

I suspect most people won’t be eligible for this bonus for one of two reasons:

  • Christian faith is required
  • They are ChexSystems sensitive

If you are eligible then I do think these bonuses are worth doing The $5,000 money market requirement isn’t too difficult to meet and you can always do the bill pays if you don’t want to keep up long term direct deposits. I’ll  add this to our list of the best bank bonuses. Keep in mind we’ve posted about the $100 checking bonus before, it’s really only the $200 money market bonus that is new.

I’m a Satanist. Am I still eligible?

Jed

Nope. But I assume you aren’t worried about going to hell for lying, so just tell them you are a devout Christian 🙂

What does “you must be primary owner on the account and offer is subject to change without notice” mean?

Does that mean I can’t use Player 2’d payroll to DD to my checking account to trigger the bonus? Is this their way of saying the names on the accounts need to match up or am I misunderstanding?

Wait is it $5,000 deposit? No balance maintenance requirement?

How do they verify faith? Any DPs. Was raised catholic but I have not been to church in like 10 years.

I have a DP. I applied and initially got the bonus. But then they tied up my hands and feet and dropped me in a pond to see if I floated, and I did, so they clawed it back.

They ask you a bunch of questions. If you show any signs of guilt, you’re in.

Isn’t Prague generally Eastern Orthodox? I can see how the Catholics and Lutherans would be Chech Sensitive 🙂

Was Lutheran, now open to all Christians since the common bond vote a few years ago

I don’t see the Christian faith requirement on the landing page.

Shawn

On the eligibility page of the application you need to tell them that “I am a Christian, seeking to live out my faith”

if i add the checking account first, it gives me a spot to add a Promo code. Then i add the MMA, no place for a code.

SHould i apply/open the checking first, then the MMA separately?

Tony
Tony

I applied for both at the same time today. There were definitely places for promo codes on both accounts. Make sure you have the right accounts (since there are multiple ones the offer).

Revil

I remember a Christian credit union being posted on here before that was run by some weird proddies that didn’t consider Catholics to be Christian. It wasn’t this one, was it?

No. Different one. You’re probably thinking of: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-bank-account-bonuses/#Christian_Community_Credit_Union_8211_200_Bonus_8211Must_Be_A_Member_of_A_Christian_Ministry

However, I have no idea if this CU has the same rule. Very possible they mean Protestant when they say Christian.

Thank you. That’s the one I was thinking of.

Do I need to get a note from my priest? I rather not contact him after what happened to the holy water font five years ago.

Priest = Catholic, which may be excluded. Next time, talk to your pastor.

I applied for both accounts as a Heathen with 22 Chex inquires in the past 12 months and all 3 of my credit bureau reports frozen. I’ll report back if I am accepted into this Credit Union cult.

lmao. I think it would be more effective to welcome all but promote their faith once joining. I’m on the fence about joining and I think I’ll pass because I’ve got enough going on.

Same, my application went to review. Highly doubt I’ll get approved. Also in case anyone was wondering, NO CC FUNDING.
