Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

The free checking account has no monthly fees to worry about

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I’m unsure if there is any early account termination fee or not.

Our Verdict

Deals that seem to be nationwide that shouldn’t really be usually end poorly if I’m being completely honest. This isn’t the biggest bonus to begin with so for most people it won’t be worth it.  If anybody decides to sign up, please share your experiences in the comments below. I will likely add this to the best checking sign up bonuses.

Opened for 4 people. 2 approved, 2 pending. The 2 pending i used citi aa business card. Wouldnt recommend that. 2 instant approvals were chase freedom and citi aa personal to fund.

They precheck the box opting you in to overdraft and don’t let you de-select it. Sleazy!

Kapil
Kapil

Yeah that was weird-overdraft should be optional

is this a guaranteed hard pull on your credit then? can anyone confirm? ive heard opting into overdraft is typically an HP

Good question. Did you find an answer to this? I’d like to know too.

“Receive one (1) $100 bonus into your checking account by establishing a recurring ACH Direct Deposit of at least $500 aggregate each month.”

Does that mean 3 separate monthly direct deposits are needed?

John Doe
John Doe

Yes, at least $500 each month.

Rick
Rick

so do you have to make direct deposits totaling $500 per month for 3 months? or just one $500 dd will trigger the bonus if done within 90 days? im not clear on how the terms read to fulfill the bonus requireement

John Doe
John Doe

It doesn’t matter – could be one single $500+ DD or multiple totaling $500, per month.

Rick
Rick

just a one time $501 DD will do the trick? or you have to have a total of $500 DD per month for multiple months?

Was anyone able to enter online banking after getting approved?

John Doe

After approval, went to their website, signed up as a New User, and was able to successfully login. You’ll need your Member Number to sign up for eBanking.

Robert

Where did you find your member number?

John Doe
John Doe

You should be able to find it on the Application Website, after you log in. It’s under “Other documents” (or was it “Other information”?). Again, it’s the Application Website and not the Online Banking Website.

It’s also part of your Checking/ Savings Account Number.

Got it! Thanks.

whats the link to the application website? after you login to what?

i was approved for the checking and savings right now via emails and dont see any links or numbers provided on how to get my member number to enroll in online banking

John Doe

In one of the emails from Unify FCU, you should see a link labelled: “access your application”. The link leads you to https://openaccount.unifyfcu.com/oflows/web/login.seam.

what part of the checking/savings account number is it? i have both my numbers and the member number says to remove preceeding zeros but it doesnt work for mewhen i do that

Devon P
Devon P

I never saw this fully answered. The member # is SOME of the numbers in both your checking and savings account numbers. You have to see what numbers in both are exactly the same. Then use those as your member number when enrolling in online banking.

Submitted application initially went “Under Review”, approved a couple of days later. Planning to try various DD methods in the next 3 months to see if they trigger the bonus.

Update: Received bonuses on both accounts after the first statement. Used a combination of $500+ ACH deposits form Chase, Discover, Wells Fargo and Serve (Amex Debit). Can’t tell which one triggered the bonus but none of them were actual payroll deposits.

@amz amz, I’d be interested if you could check to see if they all coded as PPD and not P2P? I found Alliant and Chase coded as PPD, but Discover was P2P. I didn’t try Wells Fargo or Serve. How did they code?

amz
amz

Chase: Deposit ACH JPMorgan Chase/TYPE: Ext Trnsfr ID: ***** CO: JPMorgan Chase Entry Class Code: PPDACH

Wells Fargo: Deposit ACH WELLS FARGO IFI/TYPE: DDA TO DDA ID: INTFITRVOS CO: WELLS FARGO IFI Entry Class Code: PPDACH

Discover (probably): Deposit ACH ****/TYPE: P2P ID: 1770527921 CO: **** Entry Class Code: WEBACH

So were those initiated from Chase and Wells or from Unify?

amz

All initiated externally
