Our Verdict
Always nice to see bonuses with no direct deposit requirement or monthly fees, the downside is that you need to make 30 debit card transactions. For ideas on how to easily hit that requirement, read this post. As it is a soft pull we will add it to the list of best bank bonuses.

Applied online, instant approval. No credit card funding. I did not receive any notifications of a hard pull, but will update if I do. I was preapproved for some of their crappy credit cards and an auto loan too.
The APR on the carts were actually not too terrible 10-12% and the vehicle loan of 4.25% is kind of bad but not the worst I’ve seen out there.
True, but credit card APR is irrelevant to me. I’m talking about signup bonuses and perks. If you plan on carrying a balance on a credit card you should not be applying for a credit card, hence APR could be 100% and I wouldn’t care.
Just applied for their no fee checking account, minimum $25.00 to open via transfer or mailed check, no credit card funding. No word on if approved or not, at the end of the application it said a bank rep will contact me soon. At least it didn’t auto reject me at 14/24.
I was called today by their Customer Outreach rep and approved. Offered a variety of products, some ok, but no hard pulls and the account is open! Let’s see how quickly they can pay out.
First you say…
> Household limit: None listed
Then you say…
> Limit one per household.
Fixed, thanks.
No hard pull so far. Instantly approved at 19/24. It did say they will contact me soon but the application status page says approved.
FWIW Salal is the rare “bank” that willing to offer banking services to Cannabis businesses. They also fiance a large amount of “green” biz (solar and renewable). This is this the extent of my green business experience with Salal.
mine went pending.
I applied for a My Checking account on 2/6 and was instantly approved, although approval page did not show a member or account number. Today I missed a call from a “Member Outreach Advocate” who said she was “reaching out” about my application but didn’t offer any details. I tried calling back but reached her voicemail, so still not sure what info she needs from me.
Interesting to note that the CSR could tell the phone number I provided on my application is a Google Voice number and wanted to know my “actual phone number.”
Will Amazon refills work? Do banks ever care if they see these?
Ran into a unique requirement for this one – If you’re not local to a branch, they will make you fill out an ‘Affidavit and Sworn Statement of Identity’, get it notarized, and snail-mail it in. Still not over the ‘not worth it’ threshold for $150 for me, but wanted to share that it could be a non-zero expense in terms of time and the cost of notary services and postage.
