Update 3/21/23: Homepage now says it requires $10,000 in spend.

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Winden is offering a bonus of $200 when you open a new business checking account and complete the following requirements within 60 days:
    • Spend $2,000 within 30 days on your Winden card.

The Fine Print

  • All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

Monthly Fees

This account has no monthly fees

Early Account Termination Fee

I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.

Our Verdict

Winden has raised $5 million in Venture Capital. The bonus itself looks easy to do and the card also earns 5x points on the first $10,000 you spend. Not sure how much points are actually worth.

William Charles Looks like they just started a referral program: https://www.winden.co/company/partner-program

I never even completed my setup and they recently closed my account after all the negative DPs here but maybe this is useful for someone.

Got an email that this is going to a subscription model as if it wasn’t bad enough already.

This company is clearly the worst. My rewards balance was 50k and now it is 0. After weeks of being claiming to them, they have re-evaluated my account and stated that purchases did not qualify for points. They have come up with an article on the fly. Please, avoid this bank at all costs.

Looks like they paused the 5x on 10k and they’re clamping down on other things. Interested though if it all comes back since they did say “Paused” on their support pages… or maybe not and the bonuses/earnings get nerfed. Who knows these days…

I’ve been getting all my points for PPBP but haven’t been able to cash any of them in… over 140k points so far.

Everyone see this BS where Winden is currently pausing redemptions on available points while they “work through some issues” and then coincidently are planning on devaluing their points in the next month? 🙄 That’s such a scumbag move. This is just straight up stealing.

rewards went from .06% to .05% without being able to cash them in… not cool…

It appears as reloading your PayPal balance works for the spend. Winden shows you the points earned a few min after the transaction is made. My points balance in Winden does increase when using the virtual debit card to reload my PayPal balance.

I also tried a Cash App reload. Winden gave me the points at first. Looked back a few days later and they seemed to have clawed them back. No documentation aside from dropping under the 50k points total. The points from PayPal reloads seem to be intact.

Looks like this is dead. I tried loading PayPal balance with both Physical and Virtual debit card. Zero points awarded.

Yep, just came here to say that. They also killed Bill Pay. I had points awarded yesterday. Logged in today to see them clawed back…

I chatted with Winden Support

Can I Earn up to $200 deposit bonus after spending $2,000 within in 30 days on your Winden card?

Create a Winden account
Spend a minimum of $2,000 USD within 30 days of account opening.
Spin the wheel of rewards.

what do I get by Spin the wheel of rewards?

You could win $5 to $200

I won’t sign up if I may only get $5

Yes the spin reward is random. But in addition to that it does give you 2% cashback in the first 30 days for spend on your card. And there are use cases for that as discussed in other posts.

They increased the fee to fund with a debit/credit? I see 4.9% now.

I’m screaming at them about this today. The rate went up by 2% overnight? Come on – that’s absurd. 2.9% is same as plastiq so I’ll accept that is within the range of a market rate. But 5 percent is basically stealing. How can they justify that?

If you’re reading these Winden take note. It’s not okay for your processors to jack up fees like that overnight just because you got a bunch of new sign-ups after Doctor of Credit gave you some free advertising and boosted your visibility.

I did a small credit card funding to test a few days ago, and tried again the last 2 days but they were not able to be processed. This is probably why, with the increase in fee.

I literally tried two days ago and I know someone else did too and it worked fine and was still at 2.9%. This change just happened today. Customer support said something about rates fluctuating to stay at market rates. Yah right. More like beating the market by 2% =/ I hope enough people complain and they fix it. I could maybe deal with a small increase but not a whole 2%.
