I still have 75k points stuck with them from booking a flight to HKG right before the protests got bad, and I haven’t found any use for it… Thankfully they’ve been extending the expiration date, but it’s not looking great.

You could consider booking OneWorld with them. I just used points to book a British Airways club world suites with Asia Miles. Would be another way to use them at least.

I haven’t needed it for any routes that BA flies, but I’ll keep it in mind, thank you!

My verdict: Asia miles are not as valuable as prepandemic due to very low availability international flights from USA. But, I’ve found them valuable for international routes in Asia (I just booked two last week). There is also opportunity in using them for car rentals. With the cost of car rentals sky high there is value. I currently have a booking using miles at $0.015. With a 20% transfer bonus that’s $0.018 value. Not too bad.
I would probably transfer myself if I didn’t have 300k in the program already.

Redeeming Asia Miles from US to Hong Kong is a pain. Low availability and frequent cancellation. Not sure if it is worth transferring given how difficult it is to use and with 1 year mile expiration.

In fact it will not expire if it is active for 18 months now.

No longer 1 year expiration on new miles. It’s 18 months and is extended with activity. You’re working on information that’s 2 years old.
