Our Verdict
At minimum you’re locking up funds for 124 days, probably closer to 130 or more if you give yourself a little buffer. Account earns at the following rates:
- 3.00% if $10,000+
- 3.20% if $50,000+
If you do the $15,000/$200 bonus it works out to be 7% APY total and 8% APY total if you do the $50,000/$800 bonus. Not the bad but not the best, will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

great deal for existing customers. 3% on 50k for 4 months (aur-Dec) equals 500.00 Plus the 800.Unless my math is off this is a great deal for tying up 50 k for120 days. Im an existing customer with 5.15 in my acct..Recd the bonus last year on this.
Sent an email to open an account with an advisor. He wants to meet up in person.
Best case you get a bonus that is equivalent to 8% APY on $50k… but you can get 7% APY just letting it set in OnPath accounts with some monthly debit card churn. Not enough juice in them lemons, says I.
Can you link to the OnPath offer that gets you 7% APY? I tried searching but didn’t see it. Thanks in advance!

7% APY on up to $10k, requires 15 debit card transactions per cycle.
Hard disagree. An extra 1%, $50k vs $10k, and 0 hoops is super worth it.
Not sure if it is worth considering the hold period as there are so many HYSA options which can give better amount than that without any hold.
What are all of those other options that pay more than this?
Like which?
This Offer’s terms say “Bonus offers are only available to existing Ameriprise clients as of July 14, 2025.”
I wasn’t a client as of July 14th so I’ll pass on this one.
They regularly offer bonuses, so it’s worth becoming a client. What I did last fall was call them saying I wanted to open their savings, then maintained a nominal amount in the account until the next bonus offer came around. Once you have any account open with them, you’re a “client” and eligible for future bonus offers.
FYI, I see this line in the small text at the bottom of the page:
“Bonus offers are only available to existing Ameriprise clients as of July 14, 2025.”
Unless I’m reading that wrong, it seems like if you weren’t already an existing client, then as of today, July 22nd, it’s too late to sign up and be eligible for the bonus.
Noticed this in the disclosures
-Bonus offers are only available to existing Ameriprise clients as of July 14, 2025.
I called to open an account and they scheduled an appointment to speak with an advisor. Is this every body else’s experience to open a new account. Fun Times!
Get ready for endless wealth management and life insurance pitches
Yes, I had to schedule a call to become a client and open a savings. Haven’t been bothered by anyone pitching anything since, though.
Say if I call now to become a client by opening a saving account, would I still be eligible for this promo or only for future promo ?
Answering my own question. Per T&C one should be an existing client as of 14-Jul-2025. Hence I will not be eligible for this promo
how to open the account? thanks
I had to call in saying I was interested in becoming a client, specified that I was interested in the savings account, had a call (probably scheduled, although it was last fall and I don’t remember details now), they set me up with their platform, opened the savings, I’ve been eligible for two bonuses since then thanks to being an existing client, definitely worth doing I think.
if I did previous promotion of 35000/200, and bring 50000 new money by 08/29/2025 for this one, these two bonus can be stacked? Will I get 1000 in total?
I believe they are stackable, but you must maintain the previous $35,000 balance until 12/31/2025 (rather than the originally planned deadline of 10/31/2025), as both bonuses are calculated based on the combined balance.
