[Expired] 2800 Swagbucks with Hulu Subscription, $20-$28 Moneymaker

[Update 4/25: Swagbucks is showing just 1500 SB, not 2800 SB anymore.]

The Offer

Direct Link

  • Signup for a Hulu subscription and get 2800 Swagbucks

The cheaper subscription option is for $7.99, so you’ll be paying that amount for the 2800 Swagbucks.

swagbucks hulu

The Fine Print

  • SB Awarded within 30 minutes.
  • Please note: If you cancel your membership within 8 days, your SB may be revoked.
  • Offer applies to new and eligible returning subscribers only.
  • This offer may only be redeemed (1) one time per user.

Our Verdict

2800 Swagbucks is worth at least $28, making this a $20 moneymaker (a bit less with sales tax, perhaps). Just make sure to put down on your calendar to cancel after 8 days but before the next month’s charge.

Even those who did previous Swagbucks offers for Hulu are reporting that it’s working this time. Points posted for me instantly. It should tell you if you’re not eligible. Just bear in mind that some people have had problems either with the portal tracking or with Swagbucks deactivating their account for reasons which aren’t clear, so keep the risks in mind.

Also, check if you have a Bank Amerideals for some money back on Hulu as I think people have seen that one periodically. Update: Lots of people are seeing this deal, and if you do the Hulu $7.99 if free, making this a $28 moneymaker. Also keep in mind some other card issuers also use the same backend and are showing the same offer.

If you’re new to Swagbucks then please read our review. You can also get a bonus of up to $5 by using a referral link.

  1. TG says:

I don’t see any DP saying that people who did the Swagbucks offer before got credit, only people saying who said they had Hulu before.

  2. charles says:

Thanks Chuck. Posted in about a minute, and I had a Hulu deal for BoA. 25 dollar money maker. First time sign-up.

  3. Charles says:

I’m not sure how long for BoE. But it codes as Hulu I pending and I made sure to opt in for Hulu deal. So should be fine.
I used different email address then SB account email.

  4. Skor says:

Worked for me – had Hulu before which was through a Swagbucks offer, resigned up through Swagbucks and used the BankAmerideal. Easy 2500 Swagbucks. Thanks DoC!

    • ikaveh says:

It does not let me use this offer.
It says you have used this offer before. So did you sign up again?

“Oops! Looks like you’ve completed this offer.
Many of our advertisers limit the number of times you can complete an offer. But don’t worry, we have a lot of offers, so please go back and try another one.”

  5. DH7 says:

Haven’t use swagbucks since my pre-churning days, always fun to grab an easy one. Points posted within a minute.
    Thanks Chuck!

  6. Kevin says:

Didn’t seem to post after 10 minutes. I had a previous cancelled Hulu account. When I tried to create a new one, I had to retrieve previous password through email. It’s been a while and nothing showed up on my Swagbacks.

  7. Gabriel says:

thanks doc… Cancelled Hulu 4 days ago after churning Amex offer with 20 $ visa card,, now used same account and renewed for a month… bucks posted instantly.. 🙂

  8. Nick says:

I’ve done a Swagbucks Hulu offer before, and it certainly doesn’t work for me:

“Oops! Looks like you’ve completed this offer.

Many of our advertisers limit the number of times you can complete an offer. But don’t worry, we have a lot of offers, so please go back and try another one.”

    • Chuck says:

Thanks for the DP. I wonder if they just changed something or if you maybe did the deal more recently than the rest of us.

      • Alan says:

There were 2 Hulu offers, one tracked by Swagbucks, the other through Trialplay. If you did the Trialpay before, this one works for you. Personally I did both (3-5 months ago), so this isn’t working now.

  9. Laura says:

    Posted instantly. New account. Thanks!

  10. Laura says:

Turned my 2500 SB into PayPal and 45 mins later the cash showed up in my PayPal account! I’ve never gotten a PayPal redemption from them this fast! (Admittedly I haven’t SBd in a while.)

  11. Amy says:

No BoA love for me, unfortunately–just Ford Parts & Service, 1-800-Flowers, and AT&T new line offers. 😛

  12. Aahz says:

VERY frustrated right now. Joined Swagbucks with your link, did the Hulu deal and the SB posted to my account. But when I try to cash out to PayPal the site hangs on the “Your PayPal account is not verified” pop-up with the “checking…” still sitting there 30 minutes after I hit confirm.

I’ve had my PP verified for well over a decade with $10k+ moving through it each month, so the problem’s not my account. And there are dozens of messages on the “redeem $25 PayPal award” page stating other users with the same problem. No responses from SB customer service.

You know I love you DoC, but SB is looking incredibly poorly run and not nearly worth the frustration level right now.

    • Chuck says:

Don’t bow out so fast! It seems you are new to SB. Setting up an account is always a pain.

    • I’ve never really had that issue before so can’t comment too much on it unfortunately. Let me know if you’re still having issues in 24 hrs time and I’ll try tweeting out to get it resolved.

      • Aahz says:

Finally received a response to my third Customer Service request (50 hours after submitting my first one). It reads in its entirety…

        “Hello Aahz,

“Thank you for reaching out. I would first like to apologize for the auto responses that did not address your specific inquiry. We would also like to remind our members to please keep the conversation and language appropriate when writing in.

“We sincerely apologize for the issues you are experiencing with your PayPal reward. Please know, we are aware of the current issue some members are experiencing and this error is being addressed by our tech team.

“We appreciate your time and hope to have this issue resolved soon. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

“Please let me know if there is anything else I can do for you today.”

So, they know that their website can’t do something as simple as send a PayPal payment, have known for at least 5 days based on the comments on the page, but I have no idea when they’ll fix something as vital as paying its users.

I assume the reference to “appropriate language” is in response to the final line of my ticket which reads “If you can’t do something as simple as send a PayPal payment to a decades old verified PayPal account, then I can only assume your entire website is either a scam or maintained by idiots.”

Frankly, this response just reaffirms my belief in the latter.

  13. Man says:

Signed up for hulu through this and it’s been over an hour and the swagbucks have not appeared in my account….hoping they appear soon.

  14. GRR says:

  15. Adam says:

hmm to max the hulu sub out for as long as possible – when will the next charge post? is it exactly 30 days from now? is it on the same day every month – so next one will be 3/20 now? … how do you go about cancelling hulu, can you do it online & is it instant? or do you have to call CSR?

thanks for the heads up doc, hope referrals are still working and my new acct got you some SBs!

  16. Dave says:

    Points posted instantly.

  17. Lily says:

Is it expired? I just signed up for Swag but when i clicked on this offer link it gives me a page not found message.

  18. Da Madd Cyantist says:

DP: Signed up, did the Hulu offer, and points posted immediately 🙂

  19. tim says:

Posted pert near instantaneously. Thanks Doc. This will buy me a high quality 12 pack.

  20. Josh says:

Just signed up for swagbucks and did the hulu deal. Points posted instantly. Tried cashing out for a 12% discounted $25 Walmart card. It seemed to of froze when I entered my pin confirmation. I closed out everything and went back. Looks like the sale went through but I have no GC. Should I be receiving an email, plastic GC, or was the GC in the frozen window that I closed out?

    • Chuck says:

I don’t know what happened in your case, but in general the way gift card redemption works is they send you an email instantly after you submit, you click on the confirmation link in the email, and the gift card comes within a day or a week.

  21. Curmudgeon says:

Joined Swagbucks via your link. (Probably going to regret it – glad my ad blocker was on)

Did the Hulu promo, signed up for the $7.99/mo deal using a Bank of America card so I’ll get the $7.99 bonus cash from BoA also.

Swagbucks have yet to post to account, so I’ll check tomorrow.

    • Pat says:

The SB never did post in my account. Too bad. I do run adblocker, so that probably had something to do with it. I did, however, add their suggested SB whitelist upon registering for a new SB account. Still, that didn’t seem to allow the tracking. Probably I should have used IE for this deal. Oh well. Going to cancel Hulu after eight days and see if I can get SB to credit the 2,500 bucks manually after 30 days given the e-mailed Hulu receipt. Seems a long shot but if not I’m out $7.99. =|

  22. Summit says:

DP: Didn’t get the swagbucks immediately, so I emailed support. After providing some screenshots of the confirmation email and my Hulu account page showing I had the subscription, I was credited the points.

  23. prussiablue says:

I have a BOA Hulu deal of $15 that I’m stacking with this. Free $$$!

  24. C says:

How long do these offers typically last? Would prefer to time this well with my actual renewal needs (different account).

  25. GR says:

Just did this and it still works!

  26. MontyFC says:

This offer is back with 2800 SBs.

Terms say “*SB Awarded within 24 hours. Please note: If you cancel your membership within 8 days, your SB may be revoked. Offer applies to new and eligible returning subscribers only.”

I canceled my account back in March after using the previous offer. How do I know if I am an “eligible returning subscriber”?

  27. Daniel says:

Made a new account, used a VCC, points posted immediately

  28. Mimi says:

I’m leery about these types of SB offers because I had to follow up several times for SBs that do not post as promised several weeks/months later. I remember their offers tied to purchasing at WM like the Hefty trash bags, send them a pic plus the receipt to get back points but I had to follow it up with several emails before I got my credit. I did the Kiwi offer, I hope my points posts without a follow up to support. For those who realized they did not receive any of the promised points weeks/months later, make sure to follow up with them and be prepared with your proof of purchase because they will definitely ask that. Bottomline, track your purchases and contact support if you don’t get your rewards.

  29. Vin says:

I signed up about 30 mins ago, but the points did NOT post instantly. I’ll wait for 24 hrs and see it they post.

  30. MarcoPolo says:

I am torn having to decide between using Chuck’s or William’s link 🙂

  31. alex says:

a posted in like 2 secs, brand new account. thanks guys

  32. yang says:

I have the BOA HULU deal, but not sure which credit card should i use, can I use the Boa Alaska credit card to trigger the deal? or BOA award CC only?
    thanks for your help!

  33. MarcoPolo says:

I signed up for myself and my DW using Chuck’s & William’s link.
Mine does not show the promotional 2800 SBs but my DW’s 2800 SBs posted instantaneously.
What should I do now? Am I SOL?
When trying to redeem my DW’s 2800 SBs for cash only 2500 SBs are showing on the redemption page.
What am I doing wrong here?
Also my DW had the Hulu offer in her BoA account but I didn’t.
    So, it looks like we’ll only make $28 – $8.46 X 2 + 7.99 = $19.07 among two of us.

    • Did yours show the promotional 2,800 when you clicked the link? If so, you need to contact SB to get your points posted. It might be because you and DW did the offers so close together. You can only redeem in set increments (e.g you can’t cash out 2,800 SB for $28 exactly) but don’t worry too much as there are more offers like this and you’ll be able to cash out the remaining 3,000 points later. Hope that helps!

      • MarcoPolo says:

        Thanks @William
I did mine first (via Chuck’s link) and it did show the promotional 2800 points when I clicked the link but when I went back to SBs site after completing the Hulu sign up it did not show the promotional points. There nothing in the history either. I guess I’ll have contact them after 24 hrs.
After that I did my DW’s signup (via your link) and it posted immediately.

  34. Dan says:

Oops! Looks like you’ve completed this offer.

Many of our advertisers limit the number of times you can complete an offer. But don’t worry, we have a lot of offers, so please go back and try another one.

  35. James says:

I signed up, first time using swagbucks. Points did NOT post. I clicked the offer on their site and followed all the steps.

Going to try to contact support

  36. deerseason says:

Wait was I supposed to use the same email as my swagbucks account to sign up? I just did it and the points haven’t shown up yet. I already had a previous (non plus) Hulu account on the swagbucks email and didn’t want to risk it not working, then I just now realized that means the emails on Hulu and Swagbucks don’t match.

  37. dizzy says:

Didn’t work for me. Makes me wonder though if I can set up secondary SB accounts, could be quite useful.

  38. NBG says:

I signed up using my never used SB account (as a first time hulu subscriber) points posted. Also am i supposed to see in the shop and earn section a record of the visit?. I was using the Edge browser.
At least my BOA will come thru.

  39. MarcoPolo says:

Just noticed that PNC Bank also has the Hulu $7.99 offer (called PNC Purchase Payback) just like Bank of America deal.
It’s too late for me but it might help someone.

  40. Superchurn says:

I’d love to get in on these, but the 2 i’ve tired so far haven’t worked.

I used a browser with no popup blockers, logged into SB, clicked through the direct link from here, which lead to the link on SB’s site, finished the hulu registration process, and nothing…

    am i doing something wrong?

    • EightBall says:

Same for me. SwagBucks seems like half a scam. I know the drill for using portals (fresh incognito session, no blockers, etc) and have near perfect success with tracking. But this one didn’t track. First time using both SwagBucks and Hulu for me. Based on mine and other reports here, seems like this site is designed with the hopes that most people won’t realize that they are only getting paid out half the time.

      • Superchurn says:

        quite possibly yeah.

i’m glad i’m not the only one that is having problems with SB.

was starting to think i was incompetent

  41. Devon says:

Both mine and my wife’s SB accounts show we will only earn 1500 SB’s for this. Anyone else seeing only this lower offer and any way to get the 2800 one? Thanks

  42. NBG says:

Did anyone contact SB and got a response?. I submitted a ticket and no response for 3 days now.

    • EightBall says:

I did contact Swagbucks and got a response to wait 32 days for this to track. That’s quite different for the near-instant that was promised. Plus, we all know how these things work: if it didn’t track immediately as expected, it’s incredibly unlikely it will track unless manually fixed.

I responded to Swagbucks saying the credit was promised in 24 hours (which is what it said at the time I signed up). If they don’t fix this shortly I will contact Hulu for a refund and/or my credit card to dispute. Either way, this will be my first and last time using Swagbucks. Not worth the hassle.

    • juanbeny says:

I opened a ticket and attached screen shots of the 2800 SB deal and my Hulu subscription page. Got an instant response saying they have technical difficulty and need time to fix it. Then after one or two days 2800 SB posted. Their customer service seems quite responsive to me.

  43. MarcoPolo says:

The offer has been modified now to only 1500 points.

Days go by and still no 2800 points in my Swagbucks for joining Hulu. I have contacted them twice. Sounds like a rip-off. They get a kickback from Hulu and then they don’t give out the points.

If I don’t get my points, Swagbucks is dead to me.

  45. Arnold says:

Signed up on Apr 24th throught the 2800 offer, and no Swagbucks received by now.

  46. NBG says:

Signed up on Apr 22. Finally bonus posted on Apr 26.

  47. MJC says:

Anybody have any issues with the Bank America Deals and Hulu? Mine never went to pending, it still shows as if I never used it?

  48. sara says:

    It’s now 2500 SB

  49. ENOTTY says:

Took nearly a month but I got the credit. Signed up April 22, got credit in May 20.

  50. MarcoPolo says:

Just a reminder – Don’t forget to cancel.

I signed up on April 22nd but still no credit despite writing to Swagbucks.
