The Offer
- S&T Bank is offering a $200 bonus when you open a new business checking account and complete the following requirements:
- $100 for opening a new account with at least $5,000 and apply for, receive and activate business debit card by 07/25/18

- $50 for enrolling in business online banking by August 17th, 2018 and it must remain active until September 14th, 2018
The Fine Print
- To qualify for the $100 incentive, a new Basic Business Checking account must be opened with a $5,000 balance between 04.17.18 and 06.05.18.
- Business checking account must remain open with a positive balance in order for you to receive incentive, which will be credited to the eligible account by 07.13.18.
- New account will not be eligible for offer if any signer has signing authority on an existing S&T Bank Business checking account or has closed an account within the past 90 days, or has been paid a promotional premium in the past 12 months.
- If multiple accounts are opened with the same signers, only one account will be eligible for the incentive.
- Business must also apply, receive, and activate an S&T Bank business debit card that is associated with the new Basic Business checking account by 06.22.18.
- To receive additional $50 incentive offer for Remote Deposit Capture, business must open Remote Deposit Capture service by 06.29.18 and remain active until 07.20.18 to receive $50 incentive by 07.27.18
- When business enrolls new business checking account in Business Online Banking by 06.29.18 and remains active until 07.20.18, $50 incentive will be added to your incentive amount on 07.27.18
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Account must be kept open until 7/13/18 in order to receive the incentive. The basic business account is a free checking account (up to 500 items per month). I’m unsure if there are any fees for remote deposit capture.
Our Verdict
They have previously offered a bonus of up to $350 when you open a new checking account, you basically receive $250 for opening the account with a debit card compared to the $100 here and then the other requirements were the same. Given that this was offered so recently, I’m hopeful that they will offer a bigger and better bonus than this $200 bonus in the future so we won’t be adding this to the best business checking bonuses. They do have a $200 personal checking bonus that is worth doing though.

As a data point, I’m in Philadelphia and attempted to open an account at S&T a last month. It was closed a few days later for being too far from their service area. I was told they’ll generally close the accounts of anyone who lives more than 25 miles from one of their branches.
Near philly also, same thing happened to me. They still haven’t refunded my initial deposit yet, either.
Did you open at a branch or online?
online, branches are nowhere nearby
