Monthly Fees
FirstView checking account has no monthly fees to worry about. You do need to opt in to paperless statements otherwise you’ll be charged a $2 monthly fee.
Early Account Termination Fee
Account must be kept open for six months otherwise the bonus will be forfeit This account no longer has any ETF.
Our Verdict
Better than the $400 checking bonus. Definitely worth doing if they will send you an e-mail with the promo code, I guess there is some risk involved though if you weren’t targeted with a mailer.

Post history:
- Update 4/4/24: Deal is back until April 30, 2024.
- Note: Terms state ‘Offer is only available to the addressee of the offer, is non-transferable, may not be combined with other offers’. But this shows up in a google search and you also have to request a code by filling in your information so should be able to get this bonus even if not targeted but YMMV.
Schwab coded as Moneylink PPD. I also added Direct Deposit under Memo and Income under Category on FH website. Would this be sufficient or should i use Wise for another push just to play it safe?
It’s all system automated so the Memo and Category won’t matter. Typically PPD is all it takes but up to your risk tolerance. I’m satisfied with PPD for my transfer.
thx Matt
Anyone know if 5000 average daily balance is needed for this bonus?
Opened online (14 Jul), took a couple days to verify details (renting with an OOS ID, but in bank footprint). 3 chex inquiries this year, no trouble opening.
Positive note: $50 CC funding using Chase sapphire preferred, coded as a sale.
Schwab Brokerage transfer coded as PPD, but it took a day or two for the transaction to close and add the “PPD” on the end. Waiting for bonus to post.

One month from today is the last possible day they should pay me out the bonus based on the 90-days +15 rule espoused in this thread. Fingers crossed. See you all on August 7 (or sooner!).
In-branch DP:
Went in branch today in Texas because I was denied with Chexsystems online, and everything went smoothly until the banker noticed that I had multiple inquiries with Chex. Asked if I had opened multiple bank accounts previously and told him I had trouble setting up an account online. He respectfully told me I couldn’t open an account today due to Chex and the risks associated.
DP: First Horizon also checks ChexSystems in branch, and can deny you.
Any new DPs for what works as a fake DD for this bank bonus during June/July ?
Chase personal checking still works as dd
Do you typically need an appointment to go in? Pretty inconvenient for us to go in, so don’t want to do it then find out we need an appointment and require second trip.
It’s always a good idea to make an appt. Ever since COVID, many banks either require appts, or will be short-staffed and may not have a full-time banker in every branch, just tellers.
Just do the dreaded phone call to your branch of choice and see what they recommend.

I didn’t have to when I went in to sign up, it was a ghost town. Extremely YMMV though.
Opened a FirstView Checking account and it allowed credit card funding up to $100 (ref page says $50).
