Our Verdict

Not as good as the 150k + free night certificate that was offered last year. Because of that I wouldn’t recommend this bonus unless you have a short term need for the points and certificate. We won’t be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

I already have this credit card. Can I apply for a second one of the same credit card? To me this card pays for itself even if I don’t get the sign up bonus on the second application.

Is that limiting language (24 months) new? I thought AmEx bonuses were once per lifetime across all cards, and have been tuned out of AmEx offers because of that.

24 months includes all Marriott cards (Chase has the others)

Free, unlimited Boingo Wi-Fi access -> is this still a thing? @William Charles

honestly with the recent devaluations, the 100k bonus vs the 75k is just enough to keep you where u were at. This is a pretty uncompetitive and meh offer given the annual fee and high spend.

Yeah as many credit cards as I have gotten over the years this one seems the one I have never bothered with. Doesn’t seem worth the effort. 50k point free night certificate isn’t even valuable after the recent devaluation. They need to make it like the Hilton one where you can use at any hotel.

Anyone know how long after canceling your 5th amex credit card it takes before you can get another?

Also does the first free night certificate come right away or after 12 months?

Not sure this card is a keeper even if Marriott is useful to you…

Terrible offer. 100K Marriott points is equivalent to about 40K points from other hotel programs, like Hyatt. Plus, this card is $450. Who in their right mind will apply for a $450 card that only gives about 40K points?

I dont see anything about free Boingo Wifi access on the AmEx site anymore. Maybe that benefit was removed?

I’m reading “Boingo benefit is no longer available. American Express discontinued the benefit for all of its cards as of January 1, 2020”

I have quite a few upcoming Marriott stays, so this would be a nice addition, but will wait to see if the 150K returns. The ink business preferred is my go-to for hotel stays that I don’t otherwise have co-branded cards for.
