Our Verdict
I found this on many cards, not all. The 20% discount is quite nice, though it’s a pain that you need to do this in $50 transactions on different cards.

FYI:
I just placed three orders of $50 GC’s with three different Amex cards and sent them to myself. I received one of the GC’s (via email) straight away, and discovered that the other two orders are on hold (for security reasons.) Customer service tells me that I need to call their main customer service department to unlock the orders. That dept is closed after 8 pm Eastern, so I’ll have to call tomorrow. That number is (866) 578-8637 and press 3 when prompted.
I did get “Great News!…” notifications from Amex that I had used the Hotels.com offer on each of my three Amex cards. I also went through the Swagbucks gateway which offers 2 SB’s per dollar on GC purchases, but no confirmation of the purchases there yet.
The offers were on my Ameriprise Gold Amex, Amex Blue Everyday and the white Everyday card.
Hotels.com had cleared the last two orders by morning.
4/6 – Saw this on my blue, everyday, and charge cards. Neither my Delta nor Hilton cards had it.

Swagbucks offers 2SB per dollar for purchases of hotels.com gift cards on hotels.com. Has anyone tried this with this offer and gone through hotels.com gift cards and still gotten the Amex cash back?
Shopping portals do not prevent you from getting your amex offer as long as they still go through the normal website
