Best Posts Last Week: Discover it Miles, Evolve Money Fee Free, Chase Hyatt Two Free Nights + $50 & Capital One $400 Offer

The biggest news of the week was undoubtedly the new Discover it Miles credit card launched by Discover. The name is slightly confusing, but basically this card will earn 3% cash back on all purchases for the first calendar year and then 1.5% cash back after that. It’ll be interesting to see what credit limits people will be approved for and if they will tolerant any manufactured spending. If you’re interested in this card, I’d recommend reading our full, thorough unbiased review of the card first. If you already have the Discover it or any other Discover credit cards, you might be wondering how many Discover cards you can have. We even looked at the Discover it vs Discover it Miles card to see which card made more sense.

Evolve money announced that starting soon they will be charging a 3% fee on all prepaid debit & gift cards, and the same fee on some debit cards as well. Interestingly at the moment they aren’t charging any fees on some credit cards, although the chances of that going well are quite high.

We looked at whether you should sign up for the jetBlue & Costco cards from American Express before that relationship ends and also what will happen to existing cardholders that already have those cards. In other credit card news BBVA will be releasing NBA branded credit cards, I’m somewhat excited with what they’ll come out with as they have offered bonuses on their NBA checking accounts in the past. In case you didn’t know there is a two night + $50 statement credit on the Chase Hyatt credit card.

It was a quiet week on the bank bonus front, the only real thing of note was that some people are able to get a $400 bonus from Capital One 360. If you haven’t completed a bonus from them before then it’s definitely worth attempting to get. The U.S Bank $100 S.T.A.R.T bonus might also be worth doing for some, but I’m going to give it a miss for now.
