[Expired] Chase IHG Rewards Premier Card: 140k Points + 40k Free Night Certificate

Update 7/18/22: Still no bonus via doing a dummy booking and unfortunately you can’t top off the 40,000 free night certificate. Hat tip to FM

Our Verdict

Last bonus we saw was 125k + free night certificate, previous best was  150k points + $50 statement credit and annual fee waived. Often we see an extra $50 when doing a dummy booking, that is not available this time around and never became available with the last free night certificate deal. I’d still recommend waiting a week or two to see if that extra $50 does become available unless you need the card ASAP. We will be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

FYI Both the personal and business card can now be ‘topped off’ per text at Chase site “…with the ability to add on points from your IHG® Rewards account to redeem your Anniversary Free Night at hotels above the 40,000 point redemption level. “

All of the Chase IHG cards seem unavailable right now. Might be due to the recent data breach?

How soon does IHG status updates after getting approved for Chase IHG card? I want to use the 4 for 3 nights perk.

I was also approved for the card and wanted to use the 4 or 3 nights; I already had some existing IHG points, so I tried booking everyday after approval, for me, it took almost a week for this perk to reflect (my status to elite platinum did update right after approval).

How does the 5/24 rule look like for people on this? I did a Google search and it said that it was more lax with this card in particular.

The spend multipliers are incorrect. It should read:
26 points per dollar spent on IHG properties
5 points per dollar spent on travel, dining & gas
3 points per dollar spent on everything else

Is the 40k free night just the anniversary night or an extra free night after spending $3k?

I would imagine it being an extra free night since the anniversary night does not credit until 1 year into the card.
