Our Verdict
This is better than the 75,000 offers we often see, and is an ideal time of year for maximizing the companion pass. This offer is also showing on referrals currently as well (do not share your referrals in the comments below). We’ll add this to our list of Best Credit Card Signup Bonuses. Before applying, check out these 26 Things Everybody Should Know About Chase Credit Cards.
If you are applying for the card, please help out a fellow DoC reader by using their referral link which can be found on this dedicated post. No referral sharing in the comments below.
Now let’s hope the business cards have an offer in November or December!
Is it possible to apply for a new Priority card couple days after I cancel my current Priority card? (I have been holding this card for 4+ years)
doctorS You would most likely be rejected for still having the Priority card, as it takes time for it to clear out of Chase’s system. Standard advice for re-applying for the same card is to cancel then wait 30 days, although I’ve seen DPs of faster approval.
However, if you are willing to apply for the Plus or Premier personal SW cards, DPs suggest you only need to wait 4 days.
If I have just gotten denied for the CIU, what are my chances of getting denied for the SW personal cards? I am 2/24 at the moment
Any plan to open up the referral thread? @William Charles

Is anyone seeing 25K referral bonus. I think it used to be 20K.
Why does this post say “this isn’t an ideal time of year for maximizing the companion pass”?
It seems like the perfect time to maximize the pass being that you could get the card now, and have the points post in January and get the pass for two years having paired it with the business card 60k offer after 3k spend that was available this month.
Am I missing something? Is that leftover verbiage from when this was originally posted in June but should’ve been removed for the September update?
Yup, fixed now.
Not sure if anyone else is seeing this,
but using my referral link shows the 85k offer ending on 10/17/24 rather than 10/9/24 mentioned in the post? Maybe it’s a difference of if you applying via referrals vs. the direct offer. Just want to point out for those trying to maximize the delay to receive two year of companion pass beginning in 2025.
Interesting. If you send me your referral with a 10/17 date I’ll use it. Just cancelled my old SW card and want to wait as long as possible to apply to make sure they don’t still count the old card.
AW FYI, everyone’s referral says that.
How much do the referrals get right now? 15,000 or 25,000
Right in the middle of your guess, 20,000.
Thanks Kurt
Big dawg
Kurt is incorrect. It has been bumped up to 25K per referral.
tempting offer but 100k might come end of year?
What makes you think that?
they have had 100k offers numerous times in the past, some even with companion pass benefits, airlines are struggling right now, im betting a better offer is coming…
tim Jerry The last 100k offer that I recall was to spend $2k and get 50k RR and spend an additional $10k and get an additional 50k RR. That was in Fall 2021. To my knowledge, southwest has never offered a one-stage 100k bonus.
